Yeah, that's what I thought too but people have seen them around the area. The only other thing I can think of is a black widow and we do have those here. I've seen one myself. My mom found one under a rock in her walkway. D@mn nasty little buggers. I hate those things. I'm just hoping these antibiotics work.

We got a bunch of dumb@sses for doctors around here anyway. He said the lady told him she wasn't sure what it was. He said he asked her if it looked like a spider bite and she said she didn't know. Then told him it was really infected and she'd give him an antibiotic but to come back if it got any worse. Yeah, like he'd just let his arm rot off or something. I should have known better than to send him to the doctor at home. He should have come over here to Boone. They aren't much better but at least they might have been able to determine if it was a spider bite or not.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!

Ok, that's a brown recluse bite and it looks like that but it has a scab in the very middle of it. He was picking at it before he realized what it was.

That's the black widow bite and it resembles that one more but with less of a scab in the middle.

It is the bite with a very large red circle around it. It's pretty swollen and he says it's very sore to the touch. He said he couldn't even sleep last night because every time he laid on that arm it hurt really bad.

It looks more like the one on the right but with more of a bump in the middle. It's not just smooth. You can definitely tell something bit him. And like I said, he was picking at it before he realized what it was so now it has a small scab in the middle. You can see there is some infection under the scab but I'm afraid to mess with it.

If it's a tick it just bit him and moved on. I thoroughly examined the bite on Tuesday night and there isn't anything still in it. I'm basically wondering if we should do the antibiotic thing for a couple of days and see what happens or if I should send him back to another doctor. With it being the holiday tomorrow he's gonna be stuck waiting all weekend to do something unless he wants to go to the emergency room. I, for one, am not a huge fan of emergency rooms.

if it resembles those last few pics i've posted, that's a tick bite that has lyme disease.

and that is in nc.

Yeah my mom has lyme disease (for the 4th time). Although I do not think lyme is common outside of the northeast? ah ok - I just checked the maps - there is some risk in NC.

Yeah, at least our spiders aren't the size of saucers over here.

No just dinner plates by the look of the bird spider picture I just got sent. Apparently not poisonous but from the looks of it, it could eat your face.
