Gyro is another of those words pronounced different ways. I know the real way but feel silly saying it sometimes because most people say "huh?" unless they are Greek or actually know the right way. The right way is yee-roh. But people say gee-roh, and Jeye-roh all the time.

Cool.

I definitely won't be ordering it though! I like my food to have simple names like french fries and cheeseburger and bacon and tikka masala jalfrezi gulabjamun and tuna melt.

Yee-ro, right. That's how most people say it I thought.

Yes, I know. I actually speak some Spanish (with my Grandma being from there and me living in Barcelona for a few months). I just always pretend I don't, because I am embarrassed to speak it in front of Pedro.

It's ok. I teach Spanish and I can't have a real conversation with my Chilean friend b/c I'm too embarrassed. I can't totally erase my Southern accent and she speaks so fast that I only catch every third or fourth word.

I just don't want to lose my cool in front of him B) j/k

I will eventually have to speak it in front of him, when I am meeting the parents in Mexico next February! :help:

I always imagine people(well the USCs here) having an accent like me, but that doesn't make sense since people here are from all over the US. I have talked to 2 VJers on the phone in the past, Jamie and Jeannette(both married Indians) and their accents were so different and they probably thought I sounded really different.

Now I wondered...Troll...do you have a New Jersey accent? Or any Indian accent even though you mostly grew up here?

And what kind of accent is in Indiana? Is it just a midwest sound or southern? Where I am there are all different accents...mine which I guess you'd say is like TV accent that all the spokespeople have, then there are southern sounding people, and New Yorkers, and lots of other Northern accents, and some midwest too.

I didn't share my YouTube greeting to VJ I recorded a few weeks ago?? It's gone now I assumed I had shared it with you.
