It means you can't churn loads of air into it. It can't be called ice cream if it has too much air in it. It has to be that much milk fat/solids and the rest can be air. That's why when ice cream melts a whole bowl turns into almost nothing.

you know i have no freaking idea what you just said, right?

All you need to know is the reason why when a bowl of ice cream melts it's nowhere near as much as when it was frozen is because it had loads of air in it :P

Interesting.

So if it melts and there's a lot, then what does that mean?

You paid for the good stuff. You weren't just paying for air :P

You know, now I'm gonna have to melt some ice cream.

So volumewise, good ice cream should melt into what proportion of its original volume?

eta: The ice creams that are more expensive have less air in them so you're paying for more real ingredients and not air :P

OMFG this is so confusing.

if you like the ice cream troll, I wouldn't worry about it

but i dont wanna be ripped off!

air should be free!

all has some air in it but the better quality the less air it has in it. that's why different types tasted different. like the cheap stuff kinda tastes grainy, the more expensive it is the smoother it normally is.
