well i have been waiting since january for my approved AP after like 15 phone calls to the USCIS and getting different information on what happened to my missing AP i decided enough is enough ... they have claimed to have sent it out 2 times ... and now its 'lost'. so i made an infopass to see if i could find MY AP... anyway i made an infopass for 8.45 my partner came with me and we got to federal plaza in nyc at 8.00 nice and early.....so we thought...we stood in line and the immigration officer told us my case had been sent to the wrong service centre ..so he told us to go wait in another room .. when our number was called we explained our situation for the 100th time and she said to me that it HAD been sent out ... and its somewhere in the post..... i told her we just got told it was lost and that i had to travel 17th of may ..... she understood and said i should go upstairs to another room....by then it was 12.00pm.... i explained my story again to the immigration officer and she asked if i had 2 passport photos on me....... she sent me away to go get photos 3 blocks away ... after coming in THROUGH security and going back up ... we lined up again and she took the photos and walked away ... i was confused .. she said nothing to me about my AP if she could help me or not ... very unhelpful.... anyway the time is now 2.00pm and we are still waiting .. then this man calls us to the parole window....he told us that he couldnt issue me another parole becuase another one was in the mail .. (supposedly) and that someone else could use it etcetc... i nearly broke down crying explaining it had been approved and i had to travel to my dads wedding .. he walked off and said he could see what he could do .... anyway 1 hour later ... my nerves are shot ... he calls us to the window and hands me my AP which they kindly reprinted ... THANKGOD !!!!!!!!!!

anyway now i have to pieces of paper .. one with my photo .. and the other a dupilcate with no photo .... its just stamped in the box where the photos should be .... what do i do now with these pieces of paper when i leave... thanks allllllllllllllll just thought i would share my expirience !!!

You normally get two identical pieces of paper, both with photos on them. When you travel abroad and then re-enter the U.S., you will give one of them to the Immigration Officer at the POE, they stamp it and also stamp your passport. After the first entry, you only need to show the stamp in your passport when returning to the U.S.
