Hello,

I got a pending I751 waiver at Vermont service center. I'm planning on travelling overseas this coming July, so I made an info pass last week & got an I551 stamp in my passport, but I've noticed that EAC number that she wrote down below my Alien # on passport does not match my receipt number on Biometrcis & Extension letter!! Is this normal? would it be a problem at POE coming back? I don't know how they came up with that number. I made another info pass for next thursday but it will be a hassle w/ work! it's a waste of time.

Thanks,

Yes, Biometrics tend to have a different number than the actual case being processed by USCIS.

The number written below my I-551 stamp for my I-751 is the number that is written on the back of my cheque. I never received an NOA1 so have no idea if the number would be the same or different on the extension letter. It is different than my biometrics number.

Hi BaltoBuy, I am trying for the same I-551 stamp too. I went to the San Francisco USCIS with Infopass last week and they refused to give me I-551 stamp. They said with the I-797 and expired green card I can travel internationally and will not have issues coming back to the US.

Please help, how did you manage to get the I-551 stamp? Some people say it is ok for me to travel without I-551 stamp, some are advising me against it. I am confused and need help.

What did you say at the Vermont service center to get the I-551 stamp? Please help.

Hello Poons,

Yes I went to my local office in Baltimore & got a stamp in my passport without hassle. I had to wait about 1 hour to get my passport back stamped. So not sure about SF but I saw lot of people on that day getting their passport stamped. Also, I got my stamp in Baltimore not Vermont!! I've travelled before with my expired green card & extension letter & I had no issues coming back!! Don't worry about it you will be fine.

Kathryn My Biometrics & Extension NOA letters have the same receipt number!! they're not different. So I don't know why is that!!

The stamp on my passport is followed only by the "A# CR6." There is a 5-digit number beneath the "valid until" datae. But it is a pre-printed on the stamp. Isn't the A# the important piece of information?

When does your letter of extension expire? Any time soon? If not, you should be able to re-enter the country.
