Hi friends!

My husband and I just moved. This morning we called uscis to inform them of our address change for his pending AOS and they told us to mail in form AR 11. We need help in answering some of the questions:

1) I am in the United States as a:? Should he put OTHER "pending adjustment of status" or "K1 visa"

2) I work for or attend school at:? Should he put the job he was just hired at? Or does this not apply?

3) Port of Entry into the U.S.? JFK, New York?? right?

4) If not a permanent Resident, my stay in the U.S. expires on: DOES HE PUT HIS K1 visa Expitation date?

And finally, do I (his American citizen) wife have to also fill out a form? I-865?? The lady on the telephone never said I had to fill out a form... she only said AR 11, however I realize some Vjer say the alian fills out AR11 and spouse fills out I 865.

Please help and sorry if these questions have been answered in the past.

Best

S

1) K-1

2) Put job that he works at.

3) JFK, NYC

4) I-94 date. The date on the visa is when the visa needs to be used by, NOT when stay in the USA expires.

NOTE: This can be done on-line. https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=coa

Also US Citizen sponsor needs to file I-865 anytime they move.

Thank you SOOO much.

Also, the uscis lady on the phone said she could take the change of address on the phone or we could do it online HOWEVER we would STILL need to fill out the AR11 form. At the end of the conversation I confirmed with her that since she took the change of address from us on the phone (for which she gave us a referal#) we just needed to now mail in the AR 11 form.... she said yes. DOes this sound correct to you? (I feel like they give conflicting information)

OH!! And it would have been nice if she told ME I had to fill out the I 865!!! Incredible!

THANKS!

Yes they want a record of address change filed, again this can be done on line instead of by mail.

And yes they want to keep tabs on the US citizen sponsor who filed I-864. So I-865 needs to be filed too.

This all stops after the resident alien, naturalizes and becomes a US Citizen.

one last question: the I-94 experation date is March 24, 2008... meaning it already expired. Is this ok?

just to let you know that if you fill out an AR-11 online it changes your address on most pending cases...

It actually does not (unless they've recently changed that). Only the I-865 will update the address change on pending cases.

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!

the paper AR-11 will not change your address on any pending case but the online AR-11 will.... it has had that feature ever since they introduced the online AR-11...

With the exception noted above, all non-U.S. citizens who move within the United States and its territories must submit a Form AR-11 within 10 days after completing the change of address. You can do that here on our website with the Electronic Change of Address tool. If you choose to use this online tool, you can complete an electronic Form AR-11 and notify USCIS to update your address on most pending cases.
