I see a lot of posts here of people who have NOA1 in hand, but their physical green card has expired.

What kind of experiences have people had with entering another country with your expired green card (and extension letter).

How does US customs treat you when you re-enter?

Finally, has anyone tried to get a visa to another country (UK or France for example) and had to submit their expired green card as US residencey proof??

I've travelled twice since receiving my extension letter and did not have troubles either time. I was treated the same as any other time that I have travelled. In fact, one officer was visibly pleased that I had all my paperwork in order.
