My wife and I are having our interview tomorrow morning in Los Angeles for AOS.

We have all the documents that are being requested and some extras. I think we are prepared enough as far as I know as long as there are no surprises. ;O

Our interview is at 9:30 AM which I believe is a good sign because its in the morning.

And as usual, like the K-1 Visa interview, I will be posting our experience here ASAP.

I finally got some good news to share!:dance::dance:

I just got hired to work for an IT firm in Sacramento and I am starting on Dec 9, 2008. Also, this morning, we finally received our interview letter. Our schedule is on January 22, 2009 still a long way to go. But we are already prepared: we got car insurance, car title,That utility bills, house lease and some photos. The only thing that I am worried is that we do not have ANY wedding photos because we didnt plan on getting married on that day. We simply just walked in and get married. I hope this will not affect the interview, I was just visiting the country when I met my hubby. I was supposed to go home and promised to go back for him. BUt I guess, it was just destiny that we got married on that day (which is the greatest and happiest day of my life).

Anyways, just sharing my good news. On the other hand, I still have problems with my EAD, up until this day I still have not gotten my SSN. Social Security office still says they need to institute additional verification. Has anyone here had a problems acquiring a SSN? :crying:

Thanks for reading my post.

We never received notice that our I-485 has been transferred to CSC or the local office...how do we know where it went? We called USCIS and the lady gave us the processing dates for the local office, but a lot of others go to the CSC--so she wasn't sure it was there. She said she could not help us with our case since the date for the local office had not passed yet, even though the CSC has. I called the local office (because they haven't updated their website in over 2 months), and they gave me the USCIS hotline...not helpful!

My wife is worried that they may have scheduled and interview without notifying us...that happened to her friend...and she almost missed the interview. Anyway, any advice is helpful, thank you.

Hello guys! We just came back from the interview in Los Angeles USCIS today.

The total interview was about 10-12 mins long didn't go as what I read in the forums. I guess its a case by case basis type of deal. So as I mentioned earlier, here is what happend from what we remember.

Our interview time was 9:45AM and we were called in by the IO at 10:55AM.

The interview went as follows:

(I did not see any video recording device)

The IO introduced himself.

We were sworn in first (standing up) then (sitting down) my wife was asked the YES/NO questions about being a terrorist, commited crime etc?

He asked how long we were married?

He asked us to check the information of the first page on the I-485.

He had to run to the back and made copies of both our DL and my wife's passport and EAD (took about 2 minutes) He took my wife's I-94 also and gave us a copy. (we offered our own copies, but he said he needs to make his own)

After comming back to the room, he asked if we married within 90 days of entry.

He asked for supporting documents with joint accounts. Then IO had a difficult time looking for the divorce decree (this took about 1 minute) He mentioned that he saw it earlier, but he cannot find it, but eventually he found it.

He did not ask for any pictures, check stubs, affidavit of support. He did not even ask any personal information about my wife and myself. He did not ask how we met, where we met... etc.

Basically in the end he mentioned that we will get the welcome letter in 1 week if there are no problems.

He told me this is standard procedure since we do not have any kids.

If there are problems we will need to comeback after 30 days.

I asked him if we can get a stamp on the passport. He said no stamps.

I asked him if we were approved, but he says that he cannot approve us today until he checks all of our documents again.

He asked for 4 joint documents, but we submitted about 8 including gas, water/power, checking/savings account, credit cards and IRA etc.

Our EAD and AP Documents were not taken, we still have them with us.

From what I understand we are not approved nor denied. Our status is pending. So I guess we just have to wait for 1 week if we receive the welcome letter or if it doesnt show, we will have to go back to see the IO in Los Angeles.

I'll just be keeping a lookout for USCIS website for any status changes.

Thats it for now.

What do you guys think?

Based from what you have shared, I dont see any reasons why you should not be approved. I think, the IO was just not finished going through your documents but was in hurry to finish your interview, but he will soon complete processing the approval and you will either received a welcome letter in about a week or better yet your online status will change into card production ordered. This is based from what I read from the recent posts.

Congratulations to and to your wife. You guys are done with USCIS from now. Happy Holidays in advance.:thumbs::thumbs:
