I believe the magic-8 ball is actually about 50 years old

I was not allowed to watch Grease (no in the 70s anyway) or attend the Jacksons concert. Though for some reason I was allowed to go see Prince on the Purple Rain tour.

I have already admitted by Gopher love on this very website.

Well, in all honesty, look at who else was on the Love Boat......Gopher was definately a prize by any standards!

It's funny you said that about Grease. It was just about a year ago when I actually read the words to Grease Lightening. I was like OMFG......I never knew what I was singing!

I'm on another board based web site and if you act stupid, they call you RETARDO Montalban!!!!

Quien es mas macho?

My friend and I played Greased Lightening over and over again just to giggle at the bad words.

I thought I was the only one who did that.

Fame wasn 't released until 1980.

Physical - 1981.

I know.Fame was a trip.

This is SO funny! I was a little little girl in the 70's and I can remember having the sunshine family and the donny and marie dolls, and some of that stuff goes into the 80's like the Friendship Pins from Jr High 1984 more or less! I didnt even think people remembered half the stuff! I did get to see Grease when I was in Kindergarten because my parents couldnt find a sitter I think!

Dang!!!!

I did better than that,I got to see Saturday Night Fever when I was in the 3rd grade.

You had that Fisher Price Doctor's Kit with a stethoscope that actually worked.

You owned a bicycle with a banana seat and a plastic basket with flowers on it.

You learned to skate with actual skates (not roller blades) that had metal wheels.

You thought Gopher from Love Boat was cute (admit it!)

You had nightmares after watching Fantasy Island .

You had either a 'bowl cut' or 'pixie', not to mention the 'Dorothy Hamill'. People sometimes thought you were a boy.

You had rubber boots for rainy days and Moon boots for snowy days.

YEAH! You owned a 'Slip-n-Slide' , on which you injured yourself on a sprinkler head more than once.

You owned 'Klick-Klacks' and smacked yourself in the face more than once!

Your Holly Hobbie sleeping bag was your most prized possession.

You wore a poncho, gauchos, and knickers.

You begged Santa for the electronic game, Simon.

You had the Donnie and Marie dolls wi th those pink and purple satiny shredded outfits, or the sunshine family

You spent hours in your backyard on your metal swing set with the trapeze. The swing set tipped over at least once.

You had homemade ribbon barrettes in every imaginable color. (Oh yeah!)

You had a pair of Doctor Scholl's sand als (the ones with hard sole & the buckle). You also had a pair of salt-water sandals.

You wanted to be Laura Ingalls Wilder really bad; you wore that Little House on the Prairie-inspired plaid, ruffle shirt with the high neck in at least one school picture; and you despised Nellie Oleson!

You wanted your first kiss to be at a roller rink! ---- yes it was!

PONG! ('v ideo tennis' ) was the most remarkable futuristic game you've ever heard of !

Your hairstyle was described as having 'wings' or 'feathers' and you kept it 'pretty' with the comb you kept in your back pocket.

When you walked, the 'wings' flapped up and down, looked like you were gonna 'take off' .

You know who Strawberry Shortcake is, as well as her friends, Blueberry Muffin and Huckleberry Pie.

You carried a Muppets lunch box to school and it was metal, not plastic.

With the thermos inside some were glass inside and broke the first time you dropped them.

You and your girlfriends would fight over which of the Dukes of Hazzard was your boyfriend.

YOU had Star Wars action figures, too!

It was a big event in your household each year when the 'Wizard of Oz' would come on TV. Your mom would break out the popcorn and sleeping bags!

You often asked your Magic-8 ball the question: 'Who will I marry. Shaun Cassidy, Leif Garrett, or David Cassidy?'

You completely wore out your Grease, Saturday Night Fever, and Fame soundtrack record album.

You tried to do lots of arts and crafts, like yarn and Popsicle-stick God's eyes, decoupage, or those weird potholders made on a plastic loom.

You made Shrinky-Dinks and put iron-on kittens on your t-shirts!

You used to tape record songs off the radio by holding your portable tape player up to the speaker.

You had subscriptions to Dynamite and Tiger Beat.

You learned everything you needed to know about girl issues from Judy Blume books. (Are you there God, It's me, Margaret.)

You thought Olivia Newton John's song 'Physical' was about aerobics. (?? its not??)

You wore friendship pins on your tennis shoes, or shoelaces with heart or rainbow designs.

You wanted to be a Solid Gold dancer.

You drowned yourself in Love's Baby Soft - which was the first 'real' perfume you ever owned.

You glopped your lips in Strawberry Roll-on lip-gloss till it almost dripped off.

I did NOT think Gopher from the Love Boat was cute and I sure as HELL didn't want to be no Laura Ingalls(I wanted to be Catwoman and Wonder Woman),nor did I want to marry any of the Cassidy Brothers(I wanted to marry Freddy Prinze Sr.).I did have fun changing the hair color on my Tiffany Taylor doll.I thought Donny Osmond was cute but he was way to wussy for me.

I wasn't a girl in the 70s. Still not a girl, actually. I remember most of those things, however. Except Grease. I still have not seen it, nor will I.

As a boy, I had:

6 Million Dollar Man action figure with space ship/operating room

Tonka Trucks

T-Handle 8 track player...bright red....when it was time to change tracks (in the middle of the damn song!) you could wait for it to happen automatically, or you could slam the T-Handle down and only miss 5 or 6 words from the song.

and

I used to want to marry Laura Ingalls (Melissa Gilbert)

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.
