I VOTE ´YES´ FOR LEGAL IMMIGRATION.......thanks for listening , and if you disagree, please wake up and smell the coffee .... ;0P........polskiya

Ok, polskiya, what's your plan then for sending everyone home? And will THAT be cheaper than the burden illegal aliens already put on the economy? It's fine to have a rant, but without any idea as to how to solve a problem, it's just a rant.

Charles,

This is the part of the survey I find most interesting.

(Question #7) Do you support an expansion of legal immigration into the United States? (5751 people polled).

No. Current levels of legal immigration are about right. 32.6%

No. Instead, America should reduce the number of legal immigrants entering the country each year. 26.3%

Yes. Expanded legal immigration would allow more opportunities for foreign citizens to immigrate legally, increase the economic benefits of immigration, and remove an incentive for illegal immigration. 34.7%

None of these statements reflect my views. 6.4%

#5 and #6 were interesting in what people view as doable... yet 10341 + 4561 = 14902 which suggests to me that the questionnaire is not being fully represented on the site as the other self-exclusionary categories (YES-NO) do not add up to that number. Nevertheless interesting.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

what specifically is interesting to you about it? 1/3 say it's about right, 1/3 say expand it, 1/3 say decrease it. pretty much split across the spectrum i'd say.

Also where the ball rolls for the right-wrong argument vs the legal-illegal argument. Most respondents that go with the flow of the detriment to society bit follow the right-wrong deal whereas those that tend to favor legalization follow the legal-illegal deal. In the end the places that need to be polled are the areas where there are geographically statistical populations of illegals so that those more directly impacted by all this detriment can comment. Of course, some can argument that the economical impact goes far beyond into regions where no illegals live, and there is validity to that argument, but it is interesting to marry the same questionnaire performed on this representative district in one that has different demographics.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Don't get all annoyed. I'm not saying there is anything 'wrong' with the link. I'm just suggesting the data is interesting.

26.3% of the those polled could be considered anti-immigrant. Right?

32.6% say legal immigration is about right. Ok that's good. But....the border sneakers clearly want to come here. Are these 32.6% saying they shouldn't be allowed to come, even legally?

Probably not, since according to Question 8 of the poll 52.8% of the polled responsdents answered "Yes" to this:

"A guest worker program would provide a valuable source of labor for American businesses, and by allowing more foreign citizens to work in America legally, it would remove an economic incentive for illegal immigration."
