Can somebody PLEASE help me!!!!!!

Both my husband and I have now written numerous e-mails to the NVC but we don't get any feedback and it's driving me crazy.

My husband is currently visiting me in South Africa, but even though we received the NOA's that both our I130 petition and then our I129F petition was approved on 2008-04-15, my consulate has still not received anything from the NVC.

It seems now that there is a letter from the NVC waiting for my husband when he gets home on Saturday, going the IR1/CR1 route and that he needs to pay a $70-00 bill, and then there is a IR1/CR1 process that needs to be delt with in the NVC before it is sent to my consulate.

Why are they going the IR1/CR1 route if both our I130 and I129F petitions has been approved? I don't understand, and we're getting no answer from them. This doesn't seem right. Everything I've read says that once the I130 and I 129F been approved it is sent by the NVC to my consulate.

Can anybody please help me.......I going up the walls.

Thank you.

Your I-129F was filed so long after your I-130 that they were never connected at the Service Center. Since both petitions went to NVC, you can choose whether to follow the K3 or CR1 path. If you choose the K3, simply ignore correspondence from NVC about your I-130. I'd seriously consider going the CR1 route though. Lots of discussion here about that.

The IR1 / CR1 visa is generally considered a better visa.

With K3 you will STILL have to file AOS after your K3 gets your spouse to america, and the cost is about the same as the IR1 would have been.

The "extra" time spent in NVC for your IR1 will be partially offset by not having to do the P3 process in the applicants country.

your choice, but the IR1 visa is usually preferred over the K visas.

My I-129F was filed about 30 days after the I-130. Curious to see which route this takes. CR-1 or K-3?

(I'm going for the IR-1 and blowing off the K-3. Even if it takes an extra couple months, it's worth it to not have to deal with USCIS again)

"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Note:

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

Welcome to the USA!!!
