Well..........

Here's my update for the week from the US Embassy in Cairo and I asked them about one way versus round trip

airline tickets, too.

Dear Madam:

The case is pending the officer's final review. We will process the case to conclusion once that has been completed. As a K1 visa holder, he is entitled for one way ticket.

Regards,

Consular staff

ni

4 months and counting......

Well, it sounds like the e mails I used to get, and really the end is coming. Be hopeful !

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I'm sorry to hear that they are that slow at the usa embassy

inshaallah your day is coming . you are in my prayers

Nothing's impossible . Nothing's unreachable .When I am weary you make me stronger

This love is beautiful .So unforgettable . I feel no winter cold when we are together .

Will you stand by me ?!!!Hold on and never let me go .

Will you stand by me?!! With you i know i belong . When the story gets told .

When day turns into night .I look into your eyes . I see my future now .All the world and its wonder

This love wont fade away. And through the hardest days . I will never question us .You are the reason my only reason.

I'm blessed to find what i need in a world loosing hope. you are my only believe .

You make things right every time after time.....

Will you stand by me ?!!!

I love you so much and i miss you so much more .

I swear that I am really happy for people that get their visa in less than 2 weeks...........it's awesome..........

but I am starting to think that if I were pregnant or had a baby, then maybe

we would have gotten the visa by now.

I know that every day is one day closer, it's just REALLY depressing to see people get their visas............

Sometimes I think it's better if I don't come on here...........

It almost makes me not want to post when I do get my visa in case some people have been waiting for over a year.

I feel guilty if I am happy when others are suffering.

It's like if you find out that the chemo killed your cancer but with someone else, the chemo hasn't worked.

How can you be happy, when you know someone else is suffering.

Sorry if I sound glum, but it's just how I am feeling now.

I had to put my cat to sleep yesterday and bury him. It was really emotionally heartbreaking, especially when I still had to be at work.

Then, the email from the Embassy is the same old thing for the last 4 months...........and I am thinking what is it

doing in Cairo? Sitting on a desk now for over 3 weeks since DOS cleared it? It's almost been a year now since we started this whole process.

I am sad.

If you love me, then I have everything I need

You're allowed to have a one way ticket, yes, but normally (it could be different for your country though) it costs more to fly with a one way ticket instead of a round trip (I wish they changed that). Like for me, when I fly round trip, that will be about 1000 bucks cheaper than one way :S

N400 Timeline:

12/14/11 - Sending out N400 package

12/19/11 - Received by USCIS

12/21/11 - NOA date

12/22/11 - Check cashed

12/27/11 - Received NOA

02/06/12 - Received yellow letter (pre-interview case file review)

03/13/12 - Placed in line for interview scheduling (3 yr anniversary)

03/17/12 - Received interview letter

04/17/12 - Interview - No decision, application under further review

04/17/12 - Biometrics

04/25/12 - Placed in line for oath scheduling (so I'm approved yay!)

04/27/12 - Received oath ceremony date

05/09/12 - Oath ceremony!!

I sure wished that they would have answered the question the hundred times it was asked before. Then our headache with Egypt Air would end. I wish you the best Lynn and I hope you get the visa in hand really soon.

Thanks again everyone.....always encouraging to hear from others.

Tasha, you could have used this email from the Embassy that I got and showed Egypt Air.

Really, the only problem, which wasn't in your situation, is that Egypt will not let any guy leave with a one

way on a K-1 if they don't have the military exemption stamp.

I think that is the glitch as to why everyone can't have a one way.

But your fiance was exempt from the military and EgyptAir still did the wrong thing in your situation.

We will pay an extra 200 for a round trip for Ahmed because he will not have the military exemption stamp

in his passport.

But it's nice to have that email from the Embassy to show the officials that it's okay to have a one way ticket

on a K-1, as long as you are exempt from military service.

If you love me, then I have everything I need
