I-130 questions

Our I-130 was just recently approved (yaaaaay).

We are now waiting for the NVC process to begin.

I have a few questions regarding the I-130 that will grant me conditional residency.

I`m in a situation where I am not graduating until late Feb. 2009 and will afterwards need to take 6 months of industry training, which I am hoping to do in NYC.

I haven´t searched for any places as of yet because I didn´t have the proper papers to live and work out there which could make it difficult for anyone to take me in, but I plan on going out there in October to look for places I can start my training - my baby is coming out here for the summer:).

I am hoping that our case will be done by then and I hopefully will have my visa in hand so I can "activate" it when Im visiting in October.

I`m not sure if I`m right, but from what I`ve read regarding I-130´s I will automatically have a work authorization once I´m granted conditional residency??? or is it connected with having a social security number or does that come automatically with a conditional residency card/visa aswell?.

Will I be able to go out there in Oct. if I have all the papers in hand and apply for a social security number, before going back to Europe so there might be a chance for it to be there when I move so I can work immediately??? Or will I need to stay in the U.S while waiting for a social security number???..Sorry if its a bit confusing . I appreciate any info you can possibly provide me with. Blessings

Following your interview and arrival through POE .... Yes, you will have work authorisation.

Your greencard should arrive within 6 weeks or so, but the stamp in your passport will tide you over till then.

Your SS# should also arrive in the mail too, but it would be a good idea to go to the SS office and chase it as a lot of people find that this particular part of the process doesn't work so well .... and you will need that number for 'everything'.
