There is absolutely tons of rai on www.emusic.com. Type in cheb and your head will spin. Emusic is the biggest music site for RAI ( algerian music) there is also tons of Moroccan music on there as well

If you're looking for the local songs that everyone listens to you might have to bring cd's back wiht you next time or ask your husband to send em to you!

www.emusic.com has all the latest rai. A record store dealer in Algiers uploads alblums after alblums. It has everythng from nasro to houari dauphin to khaled mami... all the latest wahrani rai....its amazing. you have to type in cheb and then all these chebas will come up... it has hasnis whole catalog.. very few people know about it...

Also, if you want to just listen to Moroccan radio on your PC, you can go to: http://www.2m.tv/ and click the upper right icon that says Radio2M. The only thing is that it's a mixture of American pop/hip-hop/R&B w/ Arabic music. But it brings back such fond memories of driving around Maroc w/ my hubby.

Cool thanks guys and gals I am checking those sites now. I'll let you know what i find.

to find nasro type in nasro

hasni type hasni

Houari dauphin the same

cheba and cheb , each word will pull up hundreds

most moroccans listen to alot of khaled, mami, hasni and nasro

You can download the whole alblum

I have been a member of emusic for about a year and a half. The hasni collections are especially good

Look for raina rai too. They are not protected so you can share them and send them to others and burn them easy unlike I tunes

I know the producer and composer for over 300 of hasnis songs and I am friends with Cheb Nasro and his family as well. I have met Cheb Redouane, Cheba Djenet and Zahouania dated my husbands uncle ( your husband will laugh at that) RAI is completely from ORAN Algeria where my husband is from but Moroccans are the ones who have kept in alive through the war in Algeria and always pay the singers alot to perform on 2m and in Morocco for parties.

The other thing is rai is strictly an Algerian genre. There are moroccan versions of rai like OUJDA rai.. but rai in its purest form is Orani. The reason that emusic seems to have all of the available rai streaming is because of a record stored called SOLI CADIC out of Algiers. They went ahead and licensed all this unlicensed music. The producer for Hasni was shocked when he saw all his artists online when I was in Oran and showed him. They dont even have atm connections there. Morocco is much more modern so all the rai singers perform there

ORAN's RAI... the treasure of Algeria....Mami is not from Oran, he is from Saaida

KHALED serbi serbi

Nasro, I know him and his family

HASNI, from Gambetta Oran, murdered by Islamic extremists 1994 You dont want me

Live365.com has a Berber Moroccan music station. I haven't seen another one like it. I listen to it sometimes to remind me of the trip I made to the Sahara with my fiance. Go to the site and use key word Berber or Moroccan.
