Liz Trotta, discussing Hillary's remarks on the RFK assassination: "And now we have what some are reading as a suggestion that somebody knock off Osama... um, uh, Obama... well both, if we could... *laughter*"

If you're worried about context, go

I am not sure what point you are trying to relay Mr Troll - what I would say is that this whole thing lends weight to me theory that presidential election politics in the US is all about image and percieved personality and nothing to do with policy or even reality. Should the president actually wield any real power, I would be a little concerned, but as power doesn't really lie in one hand it's more an observation of the levity of these elections than anything else.

As for her remarks, they are a lot more inflammetory than anything Hillary intended or actually said - Osama, Obama, who's counting?

I imagine this charming journalist leans rightwards?

I do not know. But this is from a review on Amazon.com by Publishers Weekly of a book she authored, titled Fighting for Air: In the Trenches With Television News.

From Publishers Weekly

Emmy Award winner Trotta, who spent some 20 years as a TV reporter with NBC and CBS beginning in 1961, here tells the story of her career. She served two tours in Vietnam, accompanying GIs into the jungles, and is still haunted by the experience. Trotta also covered the India-Pakistan war, "the Troubles" in Northern Ireland, the Iran hostage story, the trial of Claus von Bulow and the Grenada invasion. Italian-American, Catholic, a strong conservative and a sharp observer, she often finds herself politically at odds with her colleagues, yet has never been accused of biased reportage. Writing with wit, freed from the constraints of her trade, Trotta skewers onetime presidential candidate Eugene McCarthy for his "low opinion of the world," effectively harpoons "oafishly macho" Jimmy Breslin, "small-town sorehead" Dan Rather, the women's movement in the U.S.--with its "special-interest crankiness masquerading as the people's will"--and Woodstock, acme of the "druggy self-indulgence of the counterfeit hip world."

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

 DAHAMN! Although her slip up was funny, she was also serious about whacking Sen. Obama. Hey, Sen. Clinton might have a chance if everyone keeps putting a bulleye on Sen. Obama's backside. Hmmmm....

Clearly being charming qualifies someone to run a country of 300,000,000.. It is almost like they country is trying to make up for GWB's poor communication skills by hiring a BS aficionado. When is the country going to vote in an actual leader/s for a change. The country sure as hell needs it.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

There is a reason the Fox News Channel is the #1 cable news network BY FAR, the other channels do not even come close:

No, the reason Fox News Channel is always #1 by such an enormous amount of viewers in comparison to the #2 position is because they are the best and most fair. Even democrats come on and admit that they have had the most fair and balanced political coverage. And they have by far the best line up.

The reason you bought all the New Kids On The Block cd's is the same reason people want to vote for Obama: There really is no reason or explanation for it. You when you bought those cd's and the Obamateers are all just hopping on the bandwagon. Do you really want your taxes to double in an economic slowdown? I hope you don't pay or think that you pay a lot of taxes now because the number would more than double if Obama got into office. Now where would that money go to? Single mothers with 5 kids and 5 baby daddy's, drug dealers, low lifes, losers, and peple that are too lazy to work. As far as universal health care. You have got to be kidding, look at the system in Canada. It doesn't work there and they only have 33 million people, the US has over THREE-HUNDRED million people. And the government is going to run this program? They couldn't even handle running the social security system, a small operation in comparison to universal health care. How long did it take our government super heroes to bankrupt our promised social security money?

I could go down the list but I don't want to upset any of the Obamateers out there. Maybe if I say the word "hope" or "change" a couple hundred times...

You equated popularity to being the best in your original statement. At least stand by that argument.

"the best and most fair"

Sure - if you can draw consolation from fishing for the least smelly #######. Turds are turds after all...

If there is anything we can learn from the Boy Bands is that what is popular isn't always good, let alone great.
