Hello Guys,

I know everyone says the CR1 route is the best visa since you get your greencard immediately and can work right away. The problem is I may take the k3 route due to the looong wait for interviews at the US Embassy in Nigeria for CR1 visas. If it were an extra 2mos, then no biggie but we're talking close to a half of a year. With 9 mos already lost would you not take the k3 route? Also do I pay both fee bills for the k3 & CR1 while I'm still deciding on what to do? We simply cannot wait another 5mos for an interview, that's crazy!! Any suggestions guys!!!

If money isn't an issue for you guys then I would say go with the K-3 visa route. You shouldn't have to wait longer than need be! We were hoping to go the K-3 route but our application disappeared somewhere and our I-130 has been approved so we don't have much of a choice. Good luck with the remainder of your procedure, you'll be together soon!!

If VSC actually sends both petitions to NVC, you can just ignore all the correspondence and fees associated with the I-130/CR1 case if you wish.

When you get your actual approval notices, you'll have a good clue as to whether both are going to NVC from the wording on the I-130 notice.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
