Hi all,

I'm the petitioner and have been preparing all my documents for the I-134 but have just read something on the board that I wanted to have confirmed- is it true that any American living abroad and earning foriegn income will need a co-sponsor?

I've been living in England for over 9 years and have been making enough money to qualify to be a sponsor (the last 3 years my income was $22K, $26K and $42K). I've also filed taxes with the IRS for the last 3 years so I can submit my tax papers, bank statements, letter from bank and letter from current employer. I can also supply them with a letter from a company in the US confirming that I'll be employed with them once I arrive. Is this not good enough? By the way, I have no assets or properties.

Thanks in advance!

You should be good to go. Perhaps the confusion arises from the questions about the beneficiary's foreign employment and income, which are irrelevant in this process. Your filing the US taxes and showing an employment letter should be as good a proof as any other person living and working in USA. Good Luck
