I dont understand what MNL case number is, and i dont understand how your at the NVC if your petition hasnt been approved. Did your I-130 get approved? DId you file a I-130 for you and your child?

hi mrc1330, our case is the same K3/K4 for my child. We have 2 mnlcase number assigned by NVC does it mean that my daughter can also go with me? Until now I-129F is still pending but knowing Vermont's history lately didnt approve the I129F and instead petitioners are forced to take CR1. thanks

hi there mrc1330 yes our I130 was approved already w/ 2 case number and after NVC received the I130 approval from USCIS we have 2 assigned case number MNL (stand for Manila since we are from Philippines). Yes vermont has the history of not approving I-129F only the I-130, but 1 week ago i read a post, Vermont both approved his petition I-129F/I-130, i really dont know what to expect from VSC coz until now our I-129F is still pending and no latest touches though we are now definite to go for CR1 path since it has superior visa than K3. Goodluck and God bless to your journey.

Can someone explain to me or help me understand...

I need to start this process (visa/immigration) for me and my husband - but I need to figure out if I should file a K3 Visa app or a IR1 or CR1... or here is where I get REALLY confused; by filing a K3 am I somehow filing or considered filed for a IR1/CR1 OR should I file for both to be safe???

I of course like everyone want this to go as fast as possible - and it seems to be that I file K1/fiance stuff - all sorts of papers must be filed... BUT how do I do or make this go the fastest??

My gut tells me to file for K3 - any advice I'd so appreciate!!

SO SORRY IF I POSTED THIS IN THE WRONG PLACE I JUST NEED HELP!!!

hi chandra,

If u want to file for a k3 visa, first file the I-130 then when u receive the First Notice of Action (NOA1) u file right away the I-129F. If u got lucky both ur petitions will be approved then most likely u're in K3 route. If ur I-130 will be approved first than I-129F, thats the time for you and ur husband to decide which visa u want. Go for CR1 or wait for the pending I-129F to be approved. U cannot file for CR1 if your I-130 is NOT approve yet. I will share some posts that i read before, i hope this will help you.

I-130 by itself will result in a CR-1 IMMIGRANT Green-card visa. To do K-3 you file I-130 first, then wait for USCIS receipt letter and then file I-129F along with copy of I-130 NOA1 letter to start K-3 visa process. 130 is for immigrant visa, 129F is for NON-Immigrant K-Visas. Note: for most countries, the I-130 CR-1 process is not taking much longer than K-3 visa. CR-1 has the advantage of a green-card upon entry, which allows WORK, getting SSN, and even applying for a Driver's license. K-3 cannot do these things untill getting EAD or Green-card. EAD can take 90 days or more. So if the prospective immigrant wants to work, or drive, they will need to wait several months when entering on K-3, but CAN do these things imediatly when entering on CR-1. Also K-3 has the added costs.

hi mrc1330, our case is the same K3/K4 for my child. We have 2 mnlcase number assigned by NVC does it mean that my daughter can also go with me? Until now I-129F is still pending but knowing Vermont's history lately didnt approve the I129F and instead petitioners are forced to take CR1. thanks

sounds like you are CR1. 2 petitions for you and your daughter, correct? your I-130 was approved and now you already have a case number at NVC! the MNL is the manila embassy.. your K3 will just be abandoned..

yes thirdsjen, vermont seems abandoned our I129f and we are forced to do CR1. We got 2 assigned case number from nvc and our approved I130 has 2 case number too. I dont mind taking the CR1 route now after researching and analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of Cr1 vs. K3 the CR1 has a superior visa than K3. Lets keep in touch. Goodluck to your journey.

Hi filiricans! Im worried with our case.. we filed for K3/K4 (hubby filed only one I130 due to financial constraints) If they approved only our I130 my daughter cant come with me. We didnt file for her I130. Vermont's not being fair with this process. Its supposed to be the choice of the Petitioner and the beneficiary..they are not the ones to make the decision what path to take..right? Now what??? I cant leave my daughter behind.

Hi there lizcott, i do understand ur sentiments and worries. When my husband filed our I-130 he paid USD$670 for me and my child(usd$335 each). I can see that ur service center is from Texas, is ur petition was transferred to Vermont? If so, just pray hard that Vermont will both approves ur I-130 & I-129F if NOT, i guess u'll have to end up in CR1 and u need to file for ur child's I-130. Did u receive the NOA1 for the I-130? how many case number in the Receipt Notice? Just wondering because when my husband received the NOA1 for our I-130 it has 2 different case number, 1 for me and 1 for my daughter. Do ask your husband & do call USCIS to inquire and verify the status of your case. God bless always.

Its in Vermont (I need to edit my profile)We received our NOA1 last May 21, according to the letter they received out Petition only on May 9. Theres only one case number. We were hoping that maybe just maybe once we get our NOA1 for the I129 will try to expedite our case. My husband is a service member and training now to be deployed in Iraq. If all else fails then we need to wait for the approval of our I129. We verified already it says our case is pending.

Based on my own instinct as a mother if i were in ur situation/position. I would rather file the I-130 for my child ASAP!!! you should take a risk and gamble some hundred bucks for her I-130, thats the name of the game here now. So she can go with you in case Vermont will only approve the I-130 and not the I-129F. However, if you got lucky Vermont will do approves both petitions then its BETTER but what if only the I-130 will get thru NVC??? The question now here is: ARE YOU WILLING TO WAIT FOR THE RESULT AND APPROVAL OF WHICH PETITIONS MAY GO THRU??? BEFORE DOING SOMETHING??? (It means additional waiting and delays in your visa process again) OR ARE YOU WILLING TO GAMBLE SOME MONEY FOR HER??? the decision is now in your hands... "which is which" Goodluck.
