DS-156 online

I need confirmation pls. Spoke to Visa Unit representative, he adviced me to go online at www.evisaforms.state.gov to fill out DS-156 online. Download and Print completed Application. Why would I be asked to go online to complete the form if the form is already included in package?

hi -

because the form included in the packet is just a sample copy. you got to fill-out the online form to get the barcode which is necessary for usem to process your application more quickly.

fyi - they're no longer sending out packets to each of the applicants and they just ask us to print it out through usem's website.

thanks alot. What about the other forms DS-157 and DS-156k? These forms don't need filling out online correct?

yes, DS-157 and DS-156K can be filled out manually
