Las razones por las que te pueden negar una visa K-1 pueden ser:

- Que seas inelegible para obtener una visa, esto puede ser por tener algún antecedente criminal, haber entrado ilegalmente a USA o haber entrado legalmente pero haberte quedado más del tiempo que era permitido. En algunas ocasiones puede plantearse un waiver.

- Que te hayas casado ya con tu prometido (para aplicar para una K-1 debes ser legalemente capaz para contraer matrimonio, lo que significa que tu estado civil debe ser soltero).

- Que el Oficial del Consulado tenga dudas tu relación con tu novio es de buena fe (aunque estos casos a veces dan chance de una 2a. entrevista en la que debe acompañarte tu novio.)

No se me ocurren otras razones, pero si puedes leer en inglés, haz click en el botón donde dice Forum Search y escribe "denials" te van a aparecer threads con las experiencias de algunas personas en estos temas.

En el club colombiano han habido varias personas que dijeron que el cónsul les "aplazó" la visa por x motivo, ya sea que les faltó un documento, o porque el cónsul necesitaba ver más evidencia, o también porque el novio/novia fué solo/a a la entrevista y el cónsul pidió entrevistarlos a los dos. De todas maneras en la segundas entrevistas las visas fueron aprobadas. Sólo ví un solo caso donde aprobaron la visa en la tercera entrevista. De resto, nunca le han negado definitivamente la visa a nadie.
