After submitting I-864 and DS 230 package (using James's shortcut) we just got a RFE letter asking for Vietnam Police certificate. My wife, the beneficiary who is now a naturalized Canadian citizen, was living in Vietnam before migrating to Canada in 1992 (she was 17 at the time of departure). Per instructions in the RFE letter we may request a "Justice Record Check" through the Vietnamese Embassy in Canada.

Question: Have anyone made similar request to the Vietnamese embassy? How long will it take to obtain such document?
