This is the dilemma: When you pretty much only drive to and from work every day and make all your stops on the way home, there is no way to drive less.

Yes, though Suj has to commute to work still but for extra activities we cut down on our driving distances.

I'm pretty much the same. Neil will be getting his license next week so it'll probably be more because we'll be using both cars now.

I'm trying to drive less. I carpool to work and then teach where my husbands studies so we try to meet up at home to go together, though sometimes he gets out of work too late, and I can't afford to wait for him, so I drive.

But I'm not just talking about work/school. I went shopping yesterday and opted to go to a different store because it was 12 + miles closer than a mall I was thinking of going to. We want to go to the beach today and we'll go to the closest beach, though it may not be the best one.

same. i'm not going to change my lifestyle if i don't have to. my car gets good mileage anyway! i feel for those SUV gas guzzler drivers! .... not!!!!!! lol

eta: i hate driving in southern california anyway. it took me 3-1/2 hours to get somewhere that usually takes 1 hour (not even during rush hour either nor was there an accident) LA sucks !!!!!

Yes. We pretty much drive only to and from work. We take the bus or metrolink (light rail) when possible. We walk a lot more. And, we tend to make all stops only when they are on the way to some where else we have to go.
