That was a silly joke on my part. I'm not prepared to get into a whole 'what causes crime?' debate since that is wayyy too complicated a topic to discuss in a thread. I would, however, like to hear whether you'd prefer a kid to grow up parentless rather than have that child grow up in a loving home with gay parents.

I'd rather that child grow up with the two parents of opposite sex that it took to make him..... if that's not possible, I'd prefer he be brought by his closest family members..... if that's also not possible, I'd hope he'd get a chance to be raised by upright people in his community who can teach him how to be a good person, complete with a strong set of morals.

Ah yeah I know I'm setting myself up for debate - but has anybody ever thought about what being homosexual is all about? They're the exact same as us eat, sleep, study, get health problems etc ... exactly like us. The only thing with them is they base their lifestyle on sex. Just because a man wants to have sexual relations with a man he'll change his whole life and lose family and friends (same thing with a woman) Only because he/she cared that much about sex and doing it with the same gender. Hey everybody has their choice of being homosexual or not. I don't agree with the basis of that lifestyle - it's kind of selfish if you ask me. You're willing to lose your mother/father/other family members (if they don't accept) , prejudice remarks, people treating you differently thinking you have STD's/AID's (typical stereotype) only b/c you want to have sex and live with the person of the same gender.:blink:

I don't think a homosexual person bases his or her lifestyle on sex any more than a heterosexual person does. I believe it has more to do with embracing the fact that the person you love and want to share your life with is the same gender.

And it's not a choice, I fully believe that. If, as you say, it is a choice and the prospects are a life filled with what you describe, then why would so many people choose that life?

Why is it so hard and disturbing for people to believe that a person is born homosexual? And if people claim that "whatever someone does in the privacy of their own home" doesn't bother them...then why such hatred for homosexuality?

I can't stand seeing a trashy looking woman swapping spit with a guy in public either. But I don't think that white trash women are sexual deviants.

I know quite a few homosexuals with strong senses of moral justice, social justice, and love for fellow humans. Who are also "upright people" in their community. And are good people. Who donate vast amounts of money to charity, care for their neighbors, and *gasp* have been with the same person for far longer than some marriages last.

Oh, but they're sexual deviants preying on unsuspecting innocents.....

But it's my position that homosexuality is immoral in itself so how could I consider someone who openly practices this type of sexual deviance as an "upright" person?

That's what happens when you use dogma instead of logic to set your paramaters of what is 'deviant' and immoral.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

So why are you so afraid to say 'i would rather the child grow up alone than with gays' since that's your position that the kid would be worse off?

IF that's how you feel, then own it, instead of fannying about with the 'oh there's always an alternative' bollox

You prefer something that isn't logical just because you think it cames from god? That would be laughable if your histeria didn't affect the way other people can live their lives.
