people who matter - your family siblings aunts uncles best childhood friends i.e. your parents friends not wanting to associate with your family anymore bc of you. I wouldn't want that hanging on my shoulders. My mother crying b/c I wanted to have sexual intercourse with a girl all my life. That's pretty selfish in my views then again I don't think there's too much parent child interaction anymore these days in America so I can see the deal of I'm gay so fk anybody who doesn't accept me.

Even knowing diseases and HIV can't be spread as easily people are still cautious - seriously if you need to comprehend that statement try telling a boss, co worker, teacher , friend that you have HIV/AIDS see how fast they'll distance themselves from you. There's too much advertising everywhere that unprotected sex and gays automatically link to HIV not everyone is educated on that fully.

I'm not homosexual so I don't have to worry about that kind of stuff I'm just thinking what they go through on a daily basis explaining they're gay. It's not that much of a welcoming world to homosexuals.

Anyone who would reject their child because they're gay is a horrible human being and should have never become a parent. Same with childhood best friends sisters what have you. THEY are the selfish ones because they cannot love and accept someone for who they are.

Also, I have not seen any ads specifically targeting gays in regard to HIV. Perhaps in media specifically targeted to gay people, like the Advocate, but not in general magazines or on general television. Maybe in the 80s that was the tactic (and I wouldn't remember from that time as I was a very small child), but now all the ads I see just advocate condom use and testing in general.

When I allow people to site irrational dogma to influence my thinking, that's be the day I hang up my clogs.

You can't prevent me from saying anything I like.... all you can do is accept it or reject it. :star:

When have I tried to prevent you from saying anything?

God doesn't make mistakes....

.... and God created people who are gay.

He created ppl who grew up to become gay..... not His mistake. :)

This is not what the scientific communitity have concluded. There is more evidence to support the idea that being gay is genetic than that it is wicked sinfulness.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

There's not. I have already shown you where a scientist who was credited with proving there was a gay gene states openly that he did not and that no one has been able to.....

because there isn't one.... if there is some kind of mutation that occurs when a person adopts a gay lifestyle, it still doesn't mean they were born with it.

There are many studies out there. No one has proved 100% that there is a 'gay' gene, however to suggest that all the studies deny the probability that there is a genetic componant is false.

As for your 'mutation' after the person adopts the 'lifestyle' theory. Completely bogus.

What's with the, "you can't do this, you can't do that stuff?"

If you're going to laugh at her, at least be correct.

From the National Library of Medicine:

A gene mutation is a permanent change in the DNA sequence that makes up a gene. Mutations range in size from a single DNA building block (DNA base) to a large segment of a chromosome.

Gene mutations occur in two ways: they can be inherited from a parent or acquired during a person’s lifetime. Mutations that are passed from parent to child are called hereditary mutations or germline mutations (because they are present in the egg and sperm cells, which are also called germ cells). This type of mutation is present throughout a person’s life in virtually every cell in the body.

Mutations that occur only in an egg or sperm cell, or those that occur just after fertilization, are called new (de novo) mutations. De novo mutations may explain genetic disorders in which an affected child has a mutation in every cell, but has no family history of the disorder.

Acquired (or somatic) mutations occur in the DNA of individual cells at some time during a person’s life. These changes can be caused by environmental factors such as ultraviolet radiation from the sun, or can occur if a mistake is made as DNA copies itself during cell division. Acquired mutations in somatic cells (cells other than sperm and egg cells) cannot be passed on to the next generation.

Mutations may also occur in a single cell within an early embryo. As all the cells divide during growth and development, the individual will have some cells with the mutation and some cells without the genetic change. This situation is called mosaicism.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

This is similar to the GW debates. Not one of the people opining here are, to my knowledge, geneticists. No one, to my knowledge, in those threads is a climatologist either. Yet, we feel qualified to read studies and make statements as to what they do or do not say.

I dislike these kinds of discussions about where homosexuality comes from to begin with. People (and some animals) are gay, they have been present in society since recorded history, get over it.

That homosexuals exist is not being denied by anyone here.
