Whatever my opinion is, I think it should be pointed out that this is an African American mayor in case anyone thinks it's a white racist or just a redneck or something.

What has his skin tone got to do with anything? It's a religious intolerance end of story. People who go to church get told some half baked #######, one of those half baked ####### ideas is that having sex is sinful unless it conforms to church dogma. A great way to subdue people but not exactly scientific.

Most people when they think of "intolerant" people in the south think of rednecks, and that is why I think it should be pointed out because people have their own stereotypes about Alabama and other southern states.

As for church preaching #######, that is an opinion.

The church teaches that homosexuality is a sin that's a half baked crappy idea.

The church teaches some good ideas too but if the church thinks it's ok to teach intollerance then I have no time for it.

It's what the bible says, so the church is teaching the bible which is what a church should be doing IMO. People don't have to like it.

I am sure you are a perefectly intelligent human being, but beacuse it says in a book that homosexuals are sinners you are going to take that as truth and reject some wonderful human beings? As I said, the church teaches some #######.

It's not only "the church" that teaches queerdom is sinful..... All of the major, non-pagan religions concur on that one

You don't have to agree with the way people live their lives quite right, but yet you think it's ok to label those who live their lives differently as sinful? Having intollerance as central to a belief system is a mighty strange way to behave.

Oh, and it's not a quesion of whether I like, or don't like the idea of sin it's a question of whether it's acceptable to deny people basic human comforts such as love, just because some nut jobs can't tolerate something they consider abnormal.

Is it equally as wrong to deny a man the sexual love of his dog/sheep/insert any other animal here as well? Or does that only apply to "love" you consider OK?

Some people go to far with tolerance..... we don't have to tolerate immorality that corrupts the society as a whole. We tolerate way too much these days. I don't mean we should form lynch mobs or personally attack anyone but it used to be against the law and it should be again today IMHO.

Tell me, exactly how is a practising homosexual damaging the frabric of society? What dangerous behaviour is promoted by allowing homosexuals to be themselves? How are they corroding anyone else's morality?

It's nice to know you have such a nice attitude towards those '####### folk' and want to stick them in jail. What exactly are they to be banged up for and for how long? I mean, it's not like putting them in prison is going to teach them some lesson and get them to reform and not have sex or convert to straight sex now is it?

You didn't answer my question.... should a man be allowed to "love" an animal in the same way?

Should a man over the age of 18 be allowed to "love" a person under 18 (provided the other person loves him back of course)?

Should a man be allowed to "love" one of his grown children in this way?

What are you limits to the amount of "love" ppl should be able to freely express?
