Hi, just an update about our AOS interview. We STILL don't know anything! LOL

First, we left at 6 am to drive the 3 hours to Detroit, leaving plenty of time to get lost, eat, stop for gas and the bathroom. I had printed out the map from mapquest, so felt we were safe. WRONG. We drove around in circles for the best part of an hour before I called the State Police to ask for directions. After that I felt safe in assuming we were on our way to our destination with still 2 hours to kill. WRONG AGAIN. Another hour and I called the MSP again and this time they told me I was about 25 miles out of my way. Turn around, find the place we had to be at just in the nick of time. The apt. was for 1pm and we pulled into the parking lot at 12:55!!! Talk about a close call.

When we were called into the interview, she questioned us together, then asked me to step out of the room so she could interview us seperately. When it came time to interview me she seemed a little sceptical about the fact that we didn't have a lot of "proof" of us living together as man and wife. How can we? Other than some pictures of us with family and friends, we don't have a lot of documentation. He does not have his ead as of yet, so he does not have a ss#. Without a ss# I cannot add him to my bank account, or to the utilities, and the house we live in is actually my fathers house, so we don't have anything in our name for that either!

When we left she said that we should hear something on the decision within the next 30 days in the mail.

Ibrahim and I compared notes, and she asked us both the same questions:

How did you meet?

How long did you chat before the trip to Jordan?

Did you talk about marriage before you went to Jordan?

Did you meet his family?

Has he met your family?

Has he visited you at work?

How did his family treat you?

Are you muslim?

How does his family feel about you not being muslim?

How do your sons get along with him?

How do your sons feel about him?

So, it seems these are just pat questions that they ask everyone.

I just hope they get to work on his ead and that the AOS is granted, so we can do this all over again in 2 years!

So, hang in there everyone. Best wishes for those still waiting for word on the visa's!!!!

My life has been blessed with the love of 4 of the sweetest men in the world. James, Jonathan, Nicolas, and Islam, my sons and my S/O.

OPSSSSSSS I DID IT AGAIN!

OH #######, 5 MINUTES TO SPARE??????LOL i bet your heart was beating so fast....lol i hate going into downtown detroit! our last adventure was to go to the Detroit Receiving Hospital, and due to all the freeway closures, you have to take the backstreets to get in and somehow we found our way into the line of going to Canada  well we had to back out of the line causing everybody to stop and blocking traffic and everybody waiting for us to turn around, asked an officer for directions and i got QUESTIONED, are you a U.S. citizen?asked me for my b.c., i said im trying to get to the hospital, i dont drive around with my b.c. well, needless to say, we were detained by homeland security for the afternoon proving that we weren't here illegally! i thought we were being deported to Canada  what a nightmare that was! I will never go back to Detroit again!!!lol

back to the AOS...they interviewed us together and was just asked to supply evidence of us living together, my husband was short of the td and the agent said for him to get it and submit it back and we will be approved. i am sure that you will be approved!!Good luck and hoping to hear good news!!!

You guys are scaring me! I hope you hear the good news soon, Tammy.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Oh gosh Tammy, you know how I am about getting lost and how I can even get lost in my own backyard...I think when it is time for Hassan and I to go to our AOS interview there in Detroit we wont make it in time even if we left 2 days in advance  I hope you can remember how you ended up in the right place because I may be calling you to come take us to our interview wallah

I'm happy to hear that you finally got all of this out of the way and I'm praying for you sis, I hope to hear some good news from you soon. (F)

I wished you would get online more often because as usual I'm going crazy trying to figure things out and you know how to calm me down. I need your help again Tammy with trying to do this AOS stuff, I have emailed my lawyer many times about this and he emails me back saying he will give me a call and of course he never does. I think I am going to fire him and ask for all of my paperwork that he has and somehow with your help do the AOS.

I have so much to talk to you about I wished you would get your booty online so I can make you insane again with my crazy life and situation!!
