I've read so many times on VJ about this but can't really get it

and I don't wanna misunderstand so I wanna ask to make sure.

Today I got a letter from the hospital that I had my medical check at

and it says that I need to have Human papillomavirus vaccine.

I have to have 3 times, the first injection is followed by a second and third dose two and six months later.

I was thinking about getting it finished in the U.S after entering

since there is no requirement that I meet the vaccination requirement at the time of the visa interview.

If I understood correctly, I need to have it done when we apply for an adjustment the status?

I'm thinking(hoping) about going to the U.S in August which means I'll have to get married by November.

I'm guessing my last one will be in December.

Would it be risky to finish in the U.S or is it better I'd have it done in Japan?

I got confused when I was writing this but hope you understand

Thank you :)

Yes, you can finish the series here in the US. It sounds like you'll have ample time as well. You will file for AOS after you get married and that takes several months to process during which time your 3rd HPV shot will be due. No problem!

Good Luck and don't stress too much, it'll be fine.

3/5/11 sent LOC paperwork

3/9/11 date of NOA

Thank you :)

Japan gov hasn't appoved HPV yet so I guess I need to have in the U.S.

But I'm so worried that I won't be able to have all done before we have to apply for an adjustment

which will be after getting married and before K-1 expires?

Thank you :)

I think I'm misunderstanding?

I thought I need to have all done when we file which will be just after getting married?

I think if you have DS-3025 with "incomplete" remarks, right? HPV seems to be added to requirement last year, "• Human papillomavirus vaccine should be given to females 11 through 26 years of age." I'm pretty old, so I didn't need it

Anyway, you can contact panel physician/civil surgeon in US or ask state/county health center which might offer cheaper shot.

I did have incomplete record too, on the next day I arrived, I got additional shot. Then I had a civil surgeon transcript DS-3025 into I-693. Of course before AOS. ;) But I didn't know the cheaper way at that time, it costed a lot!

Good luck!

Hello,

Same question here. I am from France, I am 26 and won't be 27 yet when I apply for AOS. My doctor told me this HPV requirement was a really stupid thing to do after starting a sexual activity, plus in France, it is advised only for girl under 22, and the vaccin is especially important for girls in their first sexual year... Anyway, he pretty much told me it wouldn't do anything to get it...

I am arriving in the US at the end of august and we are getting married the 1st of september to be able to apply to AOS quickly after... Do you think they could give me a RFE for not having this shot when I applied???

Please help!

Thanks

Faustine
