Woman Wakes Up After Family Says Goodbye, Tubes Pulled

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- A West Virginia woman was being transferred to the Cleveland Clinic after walking the line between life and death.

Doctors are calling Val Thomas a medical miracle. They said they can't explain how she is alive.

They said Thomas suffered two heart attacks and had no brain waves for more than 17 hours. At about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, her heart stopped and she had no pulse. A respiratory machine kept her breathing and rigor mortis had set in, doctors said.

"Her skin had already started to harden and her fingers curled. Death had set in," said son Jim Thomas.

They rushed her to a West Virginia hospital. Doctors put Thomas on a special machine which induces hypothermia. The treatment involves lowering the body temperature for up to 24 hours before warming a patient up.

After that procedure, her heart stopped again.

"She had no neurological function," said Dr. Kevin Eggleston.

Her family said goodbye and doctors removed all the tubes.

However, Thomas was kept on a ventilator a little while longer as an organ donor issue was discussed.

Ten minutes later the woman woke up and started talking.

"She (nurse) said, 'I'm so sorry Mrs. Thomas.' And mom said, 'That's OK honey. That's OK," Jim Thomas said.

Val Thomas and her family strongly believe that the Lord granted them their miracle and they want everyone to know.

"I know God has something in store for me, another purpose. I don't know what it is but I'm sure he'll tell me," she said.

She was taken to the Cleveland Clinic for specialist to check her out. Doctors said amazingly she has no blockage and will be fine.

That is not how God works though. It is us humans who are responsible for the violence you talk about. It is us humans who have made laws which protects the rights/privacy of a sick individuals that lock up and rape a girl. It is us humans basically saying someone's rights are more important that a 3 year old girl living freely. I wouldn't blame the lack of action from God for that..

Yet God has never restored amputated legs, ever, there is never been anyone who has spontaneously and miraculously restores someone’s legs. Jesus clearly says that if you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer, he does not say it once, he says it many times in the bible, yet when someone without any legs prays nothing will happen, why is this? No matter how many people pray. No matter how sincere those people are. No matter how much they believe. No matter how devout and deserving the recipient. Nothing will happen. The legs will not regenerate. Prayer does not restore the severed limbs of amputees. You can electronically search through all the medical journals ever written -- there is no documented case of an amputated leg being restored spontaneously. And we know that God ignores the prayers of amputees through our own observations of the world around us. If God were answering the prayers of amputees to regenerate their lost limbs, we would be seeing amputated legs growing back every day.

Isn't that odd?

•God is all-powerful. Therefore, God can do anything, and regenerating a leg is trivial.

•God is perfect, and he created the Bible, which is his perfect book. In the Bible, Jesus makes very specific statements about the power of prayer. Since Jesus is God, and God and the Bible are perfect, those statements should be true and accurate.

•God is all-knowing and all-loving. He certainly knows about the plight of the amputee, and he loves this amputee very much.

•God is ready and willing to answer your prayers no matter how big or small. All that you have to do is believe. He says it in multiple places in the Bible. Surely, with millions of people in the prayer circle, at least one of them will believe and the prayer will be answered.

Than why has he never healed an amputees? There are really good people, who pray everyday and nothing ever happens, it is something about the amputees? Just really wonder why?

Now you are picking and choosing parts of the bible to suit your views. Interestingly enough the same thing terrorists do. But anyway. The bible was never intended to be taken literally word for word. It is there to paint a broader picture of how to live ones life. God never said he made us immortals. And he certainly never said we will all live the same lives.

What are we doing to help amputees? Last time I checked a rally about some sort of BS rights issue won't help them walk now will it.
