Hi,

My Fiance and I met while she was on a work assignment for our multi national company. Our headquarters is in Seattle and a major faction of our business is in the delhi office. Anywasy I have since been laid off as the company is de-emphasizing US operations, instead choosing the financial gain India can offer. Anyways I always found it kinda ironoc. Lose a job gain a fiancee. No question whats preferable. So we filed and have been waiting and waiting. Sometimes it seems we are the last in line. Patiently we wait. Finally she is assigned an interview date. On June 25th at 7 AM! Everything that we have been dreaming of hinges on this meeting. Obviously we are scared. Having heard horror stories of the Delhi embassy only acccelerates our worry. I wont be able to attend as I am begining a new position with a company. Any advice or cause for concern in that regard? Would a hand written letter be useful? A email or phone call? It feels helpless and if she is denied I think she will crumble. The last couple days we both have feeling terribly anxious. All the documents are in order minus the medical which she will receive in the alloted timeframe. Im just really worried and have a brand new respect for all the others who go thru this.

I am not sure how strict New Dehli Embassy is but I dont think it would hurt to write a hand written letter stating your intentions.. Letters from relatives confirming your relationship. Email log and phone records also certainely help. I also sent all of my boarding passes and my passport entries coming and leaving italy. I would send everything and anything just to be safe. It seems like a lot of work but worth it.. Best of luck>>

At the minimum send an employment letter from the people you are starting your new job with. Consider redoing your I134 to match the new income. I would assume Delhi is like any other consulate - if your paperwork is in order and they do not see any potential red flags, they should issue you the visa. I have had two visas from Delhi - a student visa, and an immigrant visa - both were issued without any problems. You need to be secure in what you are doing and not be nervous - remember, if they deny you, you need to ask them to tell you what you need to overcome the rejection. Good Luck
