Nationalize a natural resource like we do with lakes and rivers and other things of nature? That's crazy.

That one went a mile over your head. She was talking about nationalizing the oil companies. And it is crazy. This is your typical liberal mindset. Another reason why your overconfidence isn't warrented.

I can't view the video right now, so I can't make a direct comment on it, but the concept of nationalizing our natural resources is nothing new, Gary. Ask the Lakota Tribes about the U.S. and the Black Hills. In any case, I'm hoping that the high price of oil will spark or motivate this country to actually take bold steps towards rethinking how we deal with energy.

As for Maxine Waters...she's a super delegate who endorsed Hillary a long time ago.

She was talking about taking the oil companies over. Nationalizing the oil industry. She used the word socialist several times before she caught herself and change it to nationalized. This is the liberal mindset. Let the government take over.

She used it once and James Rosen added at the end that the word she was looking for was "nationalizing" the oil industry.

And yeah, pretty silly to take over the industry. Regulation is enough as that neck of the woods goes. Funny Shell did not answer the question it was asked, too.

He did. He said inaction will make higher prices certain.

The question was... will they guarantee lower prices if allowed to speculate for oil more than they do so?

Of course he wasn't going to answer that. You can't do so with a finite resource/product. Econ 101.

If the plan was to nationalize oil, then, the government would be responsible for the prices. Doesn't that make the government even more in deficit. How will it counter inflation on oil in terms of the economy? Didn't they think about that?

They are pimpin us while they fill up their own pocket. Whatever... What was funny is that Sen. Waters was so passionate until she lost her train of thought... Oh well, at least she looked good in her glasses...

Gary - Come on... Everyone loses their train of thought at some point... David Letterman has an entire segment each night on Pres. Bush...

Saying that's the liberal mindset over and over, Gary, won't make any less ludicrous than it already is...it just makes you sound like an annoying parrot of the Right Wing punditry. Don't you notice how you take things to extreme to try to make your point? Someone brings up national healthcare and you squak, "socialism, socialism! squak, squak!" It's comical. You have this insipid fear that anything run by government as evil and it's just silly. Sure there are left wing wackos within the Party just as there are right wing nutjobs in the GOP. I'm not ready to label Maxine Waters a wacko, but she's said some controversial things in the past. Do you remember B1 Bob? Bob Dornan from Orange County? Now that guy was nuckin futz. Every Party has 'em, Gary...and it would be one thing if several Democrats were all suggesting the same thing, but it appears to be just a loose cannon.

She isn't the first to say this. Hillary said she wanted to take the profits from the oil companies. The libs want government to take over a lot of things. Health care, the oil industry ect.... It's a common theme. You can deny it all you want but thats the facts.

Plus the majority of the control of price comes from the majority producers... and OPEC told Bush to shove it already when he pleaded for increased production.

All the while he laments our oil addiction in State of the Union address after address. What's it going to be folks?

Face it Gary you just don't want them to take over your brain so that you repeat the party line like a parrot.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

It's about balance, not extremes. There are some things that the government can and should run and some things the private sector should...you and I both know that, except you try to push the argument into extremes as a scare tactic that any shift from the private sector to the public is one step closer to a socialist state is fearmongering nonsense.

  What a dumb ###..

Looks like a sample of what is to come from Obamanomics..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Wow, that Maxine Waters sure is an intellectual giant.

She has a way of getting right to the point, and she knows what she is saying!

Jumping Jesus on a Pogo Stick, don't y'all EVER get tired of this same old sh!t over and over and over?

Republicans suck

Democrats suck

Politics sucks

Fighting over it makes as much sense as fighting over religion. No one is right, no one *knows* the truth, and in the end, the result will be the same no matter what.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Sorry Platy, it's boring at work tonight. I just like kicking the Obamabots anthill and watch them scurry about defending that loser. It's a form of entertainment for me. But your right. Reps suck, dems suck and politics suck. But it's what we have so why not make the best of it?
