I just called the national visa center today & was told the embassy is sending packet three to my lawyer which will take another month. Has this happened to anyone? Does anyone know if the embassy will resend the packet knowing I have removed the lawyer as agent?

Just saw your post by accident. You do not need packet 3 to complete the process physically. Packet 3 consist of certain things the embassy in her or his embassy needs and actually just says you are ready for the interview. You can go on the embassy sites and find out how you can send them. Use the short cut if possible. Usually they need copy of fiances or spouse copy of passport, ds-230 page 1& 2 and 0f-169 or ds-2100 depending. You can cut out your lawyer for this.

Oh that is wonderful! Do you suggest I call the embassy to be sure what is needed?
