well, I am shocked that someone would be so stupid to ask this. the translators that speak arabic are better suited for iraq because it is used more in iraq than in afghanistan. I speak from experience from having been deployed to both countries. Iraq is mostly an arabic speaking country, Afghanistan is split between pashtu, farsi, arabic, and taliban. But the terrorist in both countries understand arabic because all forms of arabic stim from arabic. Obama probally forgot what form of language is spoken in Afghanistan since he was only in the region when he was young. Obama should know better due to the fact that he attended an extremist muslim school in his younger years. so you be the judge if you think what country they are better used in

There is hardly any Arabic spoken in Afghanistan or Pakistan .........each locality has its own form of URDU......for example in Multan Pakistan they speak a different dialect of the Urdu......then when u get closer to the mountian area u hear a lot of pashtun (not sure of the spelling on that one)....the only Arabic i have really heard there in that area is when they are reading their holy Books........as u head toward Kashmir Pakistan and India u hear URDU and also Kashmiri......there are so many different languages spoken in the area of Pakistan Afghanistan and the Kashmir of Pakistan and India but most come back to the URDU as the basic language spoken .......how ever there are very educated people that are able to speak Arabic..or Arabs that have migrated to those areas they do speak Arabic but also speak the local dialect ...but it is not the language that is spoken for the most part........Iraq would be a better place to send the Arabic translators......................

The federal government would get a lot more qualified Arabic "translators" if they'd get a clue and realize that what they're looking for are INTERPRETERS. No interpreter worth their credentials will work for an employer so clueless as to think they're a "translator." I'm serious. I've known Arabic interpreters who have actually said, calling them translators shows the government is clueless about what they're actually looking for, and if they miss something so big, how likely is it they'll know about what the job actually entails?

Oh, and of course they should stay in Iraq unless there's an actual shortage in Afghanistan, which I suppose there may be for things like analysis of international television broadcasts.
