Oh noes...since I've moved here and married (all within six weeks), I've become addicted to shopping online! I browse everyday. I bid. I drive to the stores to look at what I like then come home and try to find a better deal online.

I don't work right now and we're trying to buy a house in SF. I know money doesn't grow on trees but it's so fun! In Canada I never bought things online because S/H was always in the $20 range. But here, they're FREE or CHEAP!

Any other addicts or former addicts?

the thing about getting addicted to getting good deals online, is that you can turn it around and get addicted to selling your stuff on ebay, and get some of the money back!!!

Seriously, I'm selling stuff before my move, and I enjoy selling stuff more than buying it. It's so satisfying to see my feedback go up along with my bank balance!

Ha ha.

I totally feel ya. I am an official Ebay addict. Most of my clothes are bought via a last minute 'bid off' on the infamous site (yep- Im one of those that will swipe in and out bid you with 20 seconds to go :P )

I love it. I'm also with Poiteen in that I also love selling stuff......right now I've been busy taking photos of my stuff that Im going to sell. The only downside is that when I sell my stuff and see the money in my paypal go up, I all of a sudden go 'hmmmmm, now I can afford BOTH those French Connection tops'. I should really know my limits

20 seconds, rookie, lol I buy a few things off of Ebay! Love Zappos.com for shoes --free shipping BOTH ways! Never have had a bad experience with them!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I want to sell my stuff on ebay too but I haven't read the "Getting Started" because it looks so confusing. Buying looks easier than selling.

Hmm...

I love Zappos, too! They did screw up one order TWICE, but they gave me a great discount to apply to my next purchases.

I learned about those esnipers the hard way. You guys suck! Hahahah...now I do the same.

Selling stuff on Ebay is fairly easy! Keep in mind Ebay charges you fees to list AND they take a certain percentage of the sale as well. AND if u use PAYPAL, they to take fees!! So sometimes its just not worth it. Sometimes I list just for the excitement of the auction
