Hi All,

We have our Interview date set for 6th June 2008! Woohoo, we are getting excited :)

Here is a little info on us...

My wife is from the US and I am from the UK. We both currently live and work in the UK.

We married in Nov07, exactly a year after we became romantically involved (L)

During the application for the DCF, we had to obtain 3 sworn affidavits from our friends to verify our relationship, which are complete.

My wife will have a job when we arrive in the US with her current employer. (I'm not so lucky but I work in IT so I am enthusiastic about finding employment).

Can anyone please advise us on what questions or type of questions we may be asked at the interview?

When we had our DCF interview last year, I think they asked three, maybe four questions:

"So, you want to move to America?"

"Where did you meet your wife, the US or the UK?"

"Where are you going to live when you get there?"

"What do you plan to do for a living?"

That was it. Good luck -- you'll do just fine. :star:

Can't really provide you with the questions...but there is a list floating around here somewhere. However, the questions are more for determining how well you know each other (since you both live together, I think you will do fine)

All I can say is bring lots of documentation with you (shared financial papers, photos, emails, letters....) and both of you, if possible, attend the interview.

London is also notoriously easy on the questioning -- especially for us DCF people. If it makes you feel better to bring documentation like photos and emails, do so, but no need to bring lots. Having read a lot of London experiences on this site, I knew the likelihood of being asked for something was close to nil so I left everything that wasn't on the checklist at home. I can't recall anyone being asked for it in the past year or so.

Of course, this is different for every embassy, but just as a heads up: this is one of the easy ones. Bring your DS-230, I-864, etc etc, but if it ain't on the checklist of stuff to bring, don't sweat it.

We did DCF through London and they literally asked two questions - was I the petitioner? and were we going to settle in the US? So easy it was actually anti-climatic.
