Hi all! Well, my fiance had the big interview today! We are approved pending my sending a more updated Letter of Intent. I mailed him an original letter of intent and my birth certificate, etc. after he got his packet 3. Well, that was a month ago and the interviewing harpy woman wouldn't accept it. So, I have to get a more updated one over there in a hurry so that they'll release that visa!! Just thought I'd pass that tip along. Also, the only question he got was to describe how we met and they didn't even look at our updated proof of relationship! He was there about 3 hours in all.

Congratulations - nuisance about that letter they do seem to get picky about trivial things. Wonder what difference she thinks 4 weeks makes on the date of a letter.

I can't get my round that one either. Being awkward of a date that 4 weeks. What damn difference does it make?

maybe people sending the letter could forward date it a bit, to try to get around that kind of nitpicking. Seems a bit harsh though.

Thanks for the congrats!! It was dated April 19 and the interview was May 22. I really should have thought to date it forward, but at that point we really didn't know when his interview would be. We were face to face so I just went ahead and gave him the original docs and the signed letter to have with him for the interview (instead of mailing them later). He said the woman who interviewed him was a bit difficult (those aren't the words he used...lol).

They are really picky about those letters of intent. I sent an updated one but it wasn't notarized, so I have to resend one that was in order for his visa to be processed. Nicky was approved, just couldn't get the actual visa itself until they got the letter.

He was told by the embassy staff that if it was up to them they wouldn't mind, but it was Homeland Security that was picky about it and they didn't want to chance Nicky getting denied at immigration when he moved.

That's absolutely ridiculous about the letter of intent! So does it have to be notarized? I never heard about the notarizing part....thought only the I-134 required that!

You're 100% on that? The OP had an NOA2 of only a few weeks old - I think ours is valid to July 16th - either way, Mercedes is coming in with me to the Embassy and they'll hardly be so cruel as to make me get the damn thing notarized if she's sitting there waiting for me. Besides, she went to get her letter stamped at the consulate in Belfast and they had never heard of such a thing ... and hers is dated that day (May 15th I think) as she got had it written out and signed that day ... maybe I should run off a copy Monday night
