NVC Timeline:

7/25 : Case # assigned

9/30 : Case completed!!!! (THANK YOU, LORD!!!)

10/03: Interview date assigned

US Embassy in Manila:

10/30 : Paid Document Verification (just to be on the safe side)

11/12 - 11/13 : Medical at SLEC

11/18: INTERVIEW DATE/MANILA EMBASSY/0630AM - VISA APPROVED!

11/20 : Visa in hand! (that was fast!)

11/30 : Flight to USA!

Life in America:

11/30 : POE:LAX

12/04 : SSN issued - 12/13: card received in the mail

12/04 : "Green Card" issued - 12/13: card received in the mail

NOVEMBER 30, 2010 : CR1 expires

CR-1 Timeline:

USCIS:

04-30-2008: I-130 Sent

05-08-2008: Received at California Service Center

05-10-2008: NOA 1

05-10-2008: Hard Copy

05-12-2008: Check cashed

07-22-2008: NOA 2

NVC:

10-27-2008: NVC sends an RFE requiring about my J-1 visa two year home country residency requirement. 3 days before the requirement (that never applied to me in the first place) would have become void.

11-7-2008:APPROVED

11-28-2008: Case fowarded to embassy after we get "a little help from our friends"...Interview scheduled for Monday 5th of January

12-30-2008: Interview cancelled by phone. A rude consular officer says "we have our reasons and will call you on monday."

01-05-2009: They don't call, so I call them and re-schedule for 01-07-2008.

01-07-2009: Interview. They don't say we're approved. They don't say that we're not approved. In fact they hardly say anything. No request for more documents or weird questions. They don't want to see any evidence. Just weird. They take my passport though, so most likely we are approved. Or else they just wanted my passport.

01-29-2009: The lovely consular officer tells me I can pick up my visa whenever I like!

01-30-2009: Visa in hand!

oh and once he gets there, and if you have time from all the happiness ;) do ask him about SEA POE, for me, that's where I'm flying in too. We live in San Juan County. Congrats once more! :star:

Thank you two soooo much... i only had four hours sleep and continued my redecorating and shopping and cleaning... running of adrenoline (spelling?) Jen is your husband here yet?

my husband arrived here on Nov 30, Rajaa! he's been here almost 2 weeks now.. twiddling his thumbs because his SSN card hasn't arrived yet. we will be going to the office next week to see if he's even in the system. we got his welcome to the United States letter in the mail tuesday, Dec 9. of course there was a typo in his name. i called USCIS (goody, we are back with them :wacko:) to have the typo corrected. according to USCIS automated thingy, his application has been approved ( i guess that means I DON'T KNOW??) on Dec 9 and they have sent a letter regarding his green card. so i panicked some more. if they put the wrong name on the green card, that will totally screw everything up.. gosh, what if they put the wrong name on his social too?? but the lady, who took forever to correct it, finally said that she corrected it cuz it was a typo and to expect another letter stating the correction.. oh the drama...

so that's my update.. hahaha..

when is his contract in Spain done, Rajaa? will he be here January or Febuary?

Nice to know what I've got to look forward to :rolleyes: well the world economy isn't doing well including Spain and they have agreed to let him out of his contract no fee cause they have laid off everyone for this month!!!! Grrrrrrrr so once he gets his visa he will travel to morrocco pack and say goodbye... we're hopeing for Jan sometime...

oh no! well, that's good and bad news.. at least he's off his contract now. you know how long for his visa to arrive?

his green card has the wrong middle initial just like i thought it would happen and there is no suffix (III).

his social security card only has his first and last name; no middle or suffix either. should this be ok or should we have it corrected? cuz i think it will matter since he is THE THIRD (III).

i know we definitely need the green card corrected..

and i thought the drama is finally done... :blink:

Jen - dont let it slide...have them corrected ASAP...its better to get them fixed now then regret later....its their fault and they need to fix it. for social security, you can walk in your local SS office and they will take care of it for you...i like those folks...with the green card, you will yet again have to deal with USCIS...but get it done once and for all. sorry to hear your situation.

I was finally approved on Dec 12. My wife and I are sooo happy...

Just wanted to share our happy news with you all. I want to thank everybody that has helped in s many different ways. Thanks to ALL!!!
