Two Biometric Appointments?

I was just wondering if anybody knows why we are receiving 2 Biometrics letters? I checked my case status on-line and it only shows that they received my Petition to remove conditions on 5/18, but I sent my petition in on 4/18 and had my Biometrics done on 5/16? Can anyone shed any light on this.

12/30/2005 Arrived in the USA (Finally made it

02/17/2006 received my social security number

03/10/2006 We Got Married!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

04/19/2006 Sent in AOS & EAD papers

04/27/2006 Touched for AOS & EAD

05/11/2006 Biometrics for AOS & EAD[/color]

06/07/2006 Received AOS appointment letter (july 14th 06)

07/07/2006 Recieved EAD

07/14/06 AOS APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!! All in less than 3 months (that's unbeleivable)

4/21/08 Filed I-751

4/26/08 Check cashed

4/28/08 NOA received

5/16/08 Attended Biometrics

9/12/08 Green Card arrived in mail :-)

Actually, you are seeing an update to your case right after the biometrics were done. 5/16 was your date, as you mentioned, then they updated your case as the biometrics went into the system on 5/18. Now, just relax and wait unless you get another letter like we did which asked my wife to show up again on 6/3 for biometrics but we were done on 5/21 and the case was updated on 5/21 and 5/22. She is still showing up on 6/3 just to make sure they don't say you did not show up on the second date.

I believe there were some issues with duplicate letters.

10-21-2005 - 1st NOAs for AOS & EAD received in the mail.

10-22-2005 - EAD and AOS "touched"

11-02-2005 - 2nd "Touched" for EAD

11-09-2005 - Got AOS Biometric letter for November 22nd.

11-22-2005 - AOS Biometrics appointment

11-23-2005 - 2nd "Touched" for AOS

12-15-2005 - 3rd "Touched"

01-19-2006 - 90 Days passed - Infopass Visit to inquiry about Biometrics

01-19-2006 - Biometrics done in Brooklyn

01-19-2006 - 4th "Touched" for EAD

01-21-2006 - 5th "Touched" for EAD

01-23-2006 - EAD Approved !!

01-28-2006 - EAD Card received!!

02-15-2006 - AOS Interview Letter received -

06-07-2006 - Interview date

06-07-2006 -APPROVED!!!

07-17-2006 - Received Welcome letter. Now waiting for GC.

07-24-2006 - GREEN CARD IN OUR HANDS!! We are done for now!!

04-24-2008 - NOA1 - 1 year extension letter received!

05-07-2008 - Biometrics letter received

05-21-2008 - Biometrics day!

05-21-2008 - Second letter received for bio for 6/3 - Weird!!

05-22-2008 - Touched again!

03-16-2009 - ** Card Production Ordered update email **

I suppose two biometric letters are better than none. We got the same thing but our 2nd letter came the day after we had the biometrics completed. I got excited until I realized it was a duplicate. Let's face it, the USCIS has a long way to go about fixing their system.

Is it really necessary to turn up for the second Biometrics? I don't wan't to take more time off work if If it will be for nothing! They already have my fingerprints so there is no point going again is there? Did anyone actually get on the phone to the USCIS to ask them what is goin on? If so does anyone have a number that I can call?
