It seems odd that the check has not been cashed. It seems that even when there is great delay in getting your NOA1 (which is a situation I'm familiar with, 37 days since sending in my petition and still no NOA1), the check is cashed within a week or so. Mine was cashed in 4 days.

Did you use some sort of certified or verifiable delivery method? Are you sure the Center received your package? If you used certified mail, you should have received the green receipt card back. If you used UPS or Fedex, you should be able verify with them that your package was delivered. If you cannot confirm the Center has recievedd the package then you will be in nebulous territory for a while.

Did you make the check out for the correct amount? Did you sign the check? Is all the other information correct on the check? I think if there is a problem with your check, they send the whole package back to you.

USICS policy is that you cannot contact them about a missing NOA1 until 30 days after sending in your petition. So chill for another couple of weeks. Then call up the customer service number (the 1-800 number). You will have to work through their system until you get to a person, they will ask you some questions until you get to the question what is your receipt number, at which time you tell them you have none and they bump you to another person who will eventually look your information up in the computer. That is after telling you a whole story about how it can take them up to 90 days to get you the NOA1. So at that point you will either be in the system or not. I got the impression that if you weren't in the system at that point, there is nothing they would do about it until 90 days after you sent you in the package. (Fortunately for me, my petition was in the computer). If you are there they will give you your receipt number, and you can start checking your online status.

Hopefully this information helps out. Please note that all this info is based on my personal experience and may not be accurate at all for most cases.

I was worried too if something was wrong, because it took about 2 weeks until they cashed the check. But then the cash was checked on a Friday and i received the NOA1 on the following Monday. I am pretty sure you will get it soon.

Good Luck

It seems as though alot of VJ are in the same boat since around end of April. We just have to patient. It's frustrating not knowing if they have it or not. We sent our K1 by USPS. All we know is that it was signed by P Novak.

Just have to sit back and wait for that cheque to be cashed and get the NOA1.

Good luck to everyone whose still waiting for the NOA1. It will happen soon............................I hope lol.

We had the same problem last week and I had posted about it as well, but it's alright, they just seem to be taking their time. Some people have a bit of a longer wait unfortunately, but it will happen soon. Take a glance at the timeline for ours and you'll see we waited about2 weeks :) It's more fear of them not having it...I know exactly how that feels! From what I can gather, they cash the cheque the day they send the NOA1 in the mail. We will keep our fingers crossed for you over the next couple days!

Good luck!

As mentioned above, for some reason vermont seems to be taking a little more time to cash the checks and issue the noa1 over the past month or so. We sent 4/15 and our check was cashed 4/25. I wouldn't start worrying just yet. ;)

I hope you will see it soon, our's was sent in May-14th express delivery, delivered 11:04am on May-15th signed for by V SEMEGI. and the notice date on the NOA-1 is May-16th...but I just received it in the mail today May-22nd so you should see it soon. If it helps look on the back of your check if you have online banking, for your receipt number...it should start with 3 capital letters...like WAC or something similar...the capital letters will be followed by numbers...cap's and numbers will be 13 characters total...(EXAMPLE) WACxxxxxxxxxx...then go to the USCIS web site and enter your Receipt number and follow the instructions. This way you will see if you are in the system,I did this 2 days ago and knew we were in. Also you can sign up for automatic e-mail updates as they process your case. Well good luck and I hope this helps :D
