Honestly why do some people get off the hook easy with their miss-speaking and others don't?

So far Obama has been running on a charismatic platform. So in his worshipers eyes he can do no wrong and any criticism is met with outrage and accusations of nit-picking. That works well with his base but for those that don't worship at the feet of the new messiah the obvious shortcomings will matter. Their optimism has been based on the idea that since they love him everyone should love him.

I don't hate Obama, in fact he seems like a nice guy. His policies however is what makes me think he would be a disaster for this country. There isn't any middle ground in his stances. It's all far left stances. That is why he will lose. He has nothing to offer anyone that isn't left of center.
