I read gas has gone up 80%....airfares haven't, so I'm cool with a little surcharge here and there for some good deals!

I'm cool with it because I rarely check any bags. I have a whole wardrobe in England so if I go there I don't need to bring anything. I'd rather have a bag surcharge than have higher fares.

Agreed, yet airlines are cutting back in many other areas, primarily personnel. One of my colleagues was delayed this week for 5 hours on a routine flight. Excuse provided: Crew rest issue....
