H1B to Permenant Resident

Hello All,

I'm here in the US on an H1B visa and will be marrying in the fall (to a US citizen). So far I've figured out that I need him to fill in a I-130 petition on my behalf, but what about me working? I'm thinking my current visa is going to run out before I get anything approved, and since the H1B is employer specific, do I need to fill another form in? I had a look at I-765 but that doesn't look like the right one.

Help is appreciated!

thanks

Yes, the I765 is the correct one. If you prefer you can file the I485 and I130 together, people say that the process is faster if you file the forms together.

Here are the guides for adjustind status with another visa (no K1, no K3)

Good luck.
