Ah, and what proof of homosexual activity will suffice for a sentence of decapitation?

This nifty little device...

I'll bet he's a closet homosexual. The most vigilant anti-homosexuals usually are.

Who would know the sin and all the evil it can bring better than the sinner himself? /devils advocate

ah yes, time for this old gem

...backed by scientific proof.

oh but of course!

Don't hate science...it's the best friend you never had.

Ironic coming from someone who irrationally fears nuclear power.

That's a presumptuous claim.

This Gambian President is wrapped pretty tight, but I am not surprised, Saudi does the same thing as well as a lot of countries. It is pretty insane stuff without a doubt; I am with the others on this closet gay man. I would hate to be his wife, damn, cook the wrong thing, and off with her head. Somebody asked how do you prove this kind of thing, I am not sure, but I know in Iran if you husband and some of his friends say you are cheating on him, they take you out and stone you to death. Doesn't matter he is just getting rid of you to bring in the younger one, just some scary stuff.

A lot of homosexuals might end up with their heads chopped off. I'm sure that when the president said that he was beheading homosexuals, they all lined up.

Yet not one person has died from commercial nuclear power in the USA. The Soviet Union wasn't concerned with safety and if you knew the first thing about reactor design you would know this. Oh and less than 100 people died from Chernobyl (mostly first responders) not 500,000.

Listen and learn or my cow named Gupt gets the axe. ;)

No offense, but I'll give more weight to experts on the subject who don't work in the industry. Did you see where the earthquake in China has unearthed nuclear waste that had been buried? Renewable energy sources is safer and potentially cheaper than nuclear power. Why is Sweden phasing out nuclear power?

Some quick Googling makes it appear no consensus exists on the death toll. So I'm unclear how you can say that with such certainty :)

A new Greenpeace report ... predicts approximately 270,000 cancers and 93,000 fatal cancer cases caused by Chernobyl. The report also concludes that on the basis of demographic data, during the last 15 years, 60,000 people have additionally died in Russia because of the Chernobyl accident, and estimates of the total death toll for the Ukraine and Belarus could reach another 140,000.

http://www.greenpeace.org/international/ne...l-deaths-180406

The nuclear disaster at Chernobyl almost 20 years ago has so far claimed fewer than 50 lives, according to a study by the International Atomic Energy Agency, the UN Development Programme and the World Health Organisation.

But about 4,000 people could eventually die from exposure to radiation released when a reactor caught fire in the Ukrainian forest and showered Europe with a plume of radioactive particles.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2005.../energy.ukraine

Ian Fairlie and David Sumner, two independent radiation scientists from the UK, say that the death toll from cancers caused by Chernobyl will in fact lie somewhere between 30,000 and 60,000.

http://www.newscientist.com/channel/health...obyl-claim.html

About 15,000 people were killed and 50,000 left handicapped in the emergency clean-up after the Chernobyl nuclear accident, according to a group representing those who worked in the relief operations.

The number of invalids caused by the radiation has multiplied twelvefold since 1991, says Viacheslav Grishin, president of the Chernobyl League.

...

The exact number of dead has never been given, but it is estimated that five million people were exposed to radiation in Ukraine, Belarus and Russia.

About 30 people were killed immediately and thousands were evacuated from the region.

Ukraine's Health Ministry estimates that 3.5 million people, over a third of them children, have suffered illness as a result of the contamination, and the incidence of some cancers is 10 times the national average.

...

She noted that thyroid cancer cases have increased 10 times in Ukraine in general since the accident.

Chernobyl went way beyond the handful of people who experienced first exposure to the scene - and its probably fair to say that the long-term effects of that incident are only now being fully understood. Radiation from the accident was detected as far away as the UK and Sweden.

I read a National Geographic article a while back which claimed that the concrete structure entombing the reactor was decaying in danger of collapse (precipitating another massive release of radioactive particles). Supposedly there's a new containment facility being built to be installed on top of the current structure but that isn't expected to be finished until 2011.
