Dear fellow K-3ers who are thinking perhaps they should have just filed the I-130,

What is your current experience, especially for CSC filers? I know this subject is a big mystery.

I-129F - approved May 8; received at NVC on May 15 and assigned case number, per phone conversation.

On May 19th it was touched at the USCIS (how can this be?).

I-130 - also approved May 8th. No record of at NVC as of today (per automated line). Hard copy of NOA 2 says it will be sent to the NVC.

Last touch at USCIS was on May 15th.

I'm wondering if I should call the NVC and ask specifically if we should expect the I-130 to be sent to them, or if it will be held at the NBC.

The kids are thinking, that due some changes in circumstances, that the CR1 may be the better option for them.

Thanks in advance!

NVC has no information about what "will be sent" to them. They just open their mail and process what's in it.

NBC has nothing to do with your I-130 or I-129F. I think you mean the National Records Center, which is where your I-130 would go if not sent to NVC. USCIS can tell you the status of your I-130 if NVC doesn't have it already.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Thanks! Yes, I meant NRC. I definitely think they should do exactly what it says they will do on the NOA 2.

Isn't that akin to a legal document?

By the way, for us, it took a bit longer for the I-130 status to be updated on the NVC phone lookup system than the I-129F; I think it was about two weeks longer than the I-129F. However, near as I can tell, the NVC processed the I-130 documents just about one week after the I-129F.

Our attorney received the fee bill for the I-130 on Monday, about 2 weeks after the date of the letter.

Thanks for the feed back. It is helpful. He figures there is no point in her coming while he is in officer candidate school, as they wouldn't even get to see each other! Having options is always a good feeling.

I see from your time line that you have an interview very shortly. Will be thinking about you and praying for you, that all will go well and that it will be painless.
