HELP....!!!!! LOST MEDICAL RECORDS!

I went to my 1st day MEDICAL yesterday May 20. I told the Examiner about my previous sickness w/c is the PULMONARY COMPLEX way back 1988 when i was 3 y/o..

The examiner told me to get a Medical Certificate regarding the sickness i had before but when i went to the Hospital they told me that they do not have the 1980's files anymore and since i am an OUT PATIENT too.

The Hospital told me to call them on Friday or wait 5 days if there are still some files left but my interview is on May 27 Tuesday. I was also told that they cannot give me Medical Certificate about that sickness because they do not have the Records.

I did not have any Pulmonary problems after i was treated and i had several MEDICAL CHECK UPS when i had a job, i am not smoking neither drinking. And i am pretty sure that i am fine now about my health.

I am so worried that if i cannot send the SLEC the Medical Certificate they want before my INTERVIEW schedule.

And or what to ask the Hospital so they can do something about giving me Certificate even they do not have my file anymore?

Is it possible if i will ask for the Hospital a letter to present SLEC that they do not have my records anymore?

And will SLEC accept it?

I am so really worried. I am running out of time. Don't have peace of mind. Please help me.

Hi Charramal,

Im sorry to hear about your medical records being lost. My son had a Primary Complex also when he was 4 yrs old and i lost all the records as well and worse, I cant remember which doctor we went to for the whole duration of the treatment.

Since I cant find it, I talked to his present Pediatrician and she helped me with the certificate but we still have to undergo an xray so that she knows shes really out of any tb. She did the certificate and wrote all the treatments and how long it were - St. Lukes needed the treatment and how long it was per medicine. I remembered the medicines and how long my son took which i mentioned to her so it was not a problem but all doctors know what they are anyway. And after that, everything is ok na. We submitted that and they had his xray again and the next day he was given the immunization.

I suggest you go to your family doctor and maybe he/she can help you. Your present doctor should know your health anyway. Maybe you can ask your mom if she can remember the treatment so you can mention it to your doctor. I know its a little stressful to do it but whats important is that youre out of danger to anyone now.

Or if you do not want to do that, you can present the hospital letter and hoepfully SLEC accepts it and make you undergo all the tb tests. What will they do anyway, if its really lost which is not your fault so they better accept it!
