Sorry to be a pain-- :( but I posted here a little while ago about my husband's ex-wife and getting a statement from her allowing the kids to go with him to the States. He has sole custody but with the interview in Montreal we want him to go prepared for anything- we can't afford a second trip back to Montreal. We are running two households and have five kids between us-- lol ! Anyway- I know we should get her statement notarized but what should the paperwork say?

Thanks so much and sorry for all the questions. I do appreciate everyone who has read and has answered my many questions. I don't know what I would do without this message board- everyone has been so helpful and supportive and for that I am so very grateful.... :)

Hi ... I have sole custody and I did not have a letter (I brought with my my court documents) .. my son was with me and they simply asked him if his dad knew and was okay with us leaving.

If I did get a letter it would have said something like I acknowledge and consent to our children (their names) moving to the location and said location being their permanent residence with their parent (name).

Hope that helps :)

What lynamon said sounds good, I would only add the phone number of the ex on the letter.

When I traveled for a visit to Canada with my kids last summer I called ahead to the border office & asked what they'd want. I was told to get a letter from my ex and they said to have his phone number on it just in case they wanted to verify it. I also told my ex the date & approx time I'd be crossing and told him to make sure he answered if he got a call. Luckily he was very agreeable & didn't give me any ####### about it. (nobody ever asked for the letter, but you just never know)

3/5/11 sent LOC paperwork

3/9/11 date of NOA

?/?/?? biometrics appointment
