Hi All,

I'm just wondering when I should book my flights. I know it says some people are lucky to get their visa on the day of the interview. What's the approx wait time after the interview that you have had to wait for your visa in the mail?

My interview is on the Tuesday 10th - Do they actually send the packets back to you straight away or do you wait a week? Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks!!

J

I would say anything between 3-7 days for delivery by the courier. Going by what others say. I haven't got that far yet lol

It is dangerous to book you flight before the interview.

1. You don't know for sure if there will be any issues in getting the Visa.

2. You don't know when they will give you the Visa. It is never a for sure thing.

You can go ahead and book your flights now, but I advise you check with the airline and see how much it would cost to change dates if needs be.

The Sydney consulate no longer issues visas the same day (they had signs all over saying that). We brought our express post envelope with us prelabeled. You can ask the interview if you can pick up the visa the next day but it has to be after 4pm or something like that. Our flight departed before then so we just opted to hand in the envelope. They send the packet to you within two days and so you usually receive it within a week.
