LB, Don't worry about the fee payment at the bank. Each consulate does it different. In Morocco they pay it at the consulate when they get there for the interview, so it might be that way for your man too. Who else has done the same kind of visa as you at that consulate that could answer that?

Michael, I know you're very young and impatient to be with your love, but think about it like this. Take this time to get to know her better. Learn what she loves the most and what she hates. Learn how she reacts when she's happy, sad, depressed, angry, etc... Get to know every possible thing you can about her - her childhood, her past relationships, how she interacts with her children. Believe it or not Abdel and I did not once practice for his interview. What we did do was talk on Yahoo for 2 to 6 hours every single night while we were waiting to be together (except for a few when his brother was in the hospital and he had to be there). We didn't just sit there and say "I love you, I miss you." We had deep conversations about anything and everything and I think that helped prepare Abdel better than any question and answer sessions could.

The better you know her before you get here to her, the easier your life will be together. Abdel has been here over 5 months and we haven't really had even one argument. I've hurt his feelings by saying careless things a couple of times, and that hurt me as much as it hurt him because I can't stand to hurt him.

Instead of seeing this as a horrible time of being separated, see it as an opportunity to learn more about the woman you plan to spend the rest of your life with. It will go by faster than you can imagine that way.

Take care,

Liz

as fact we stay togther about minimum 10 hours per day, she works as technical support online and on phone, so she is online with me always, am 100% involved with every little details in her life, and kids, they come talkwith me when there is problems, i talk with her and try to solve what ever going on there, cuz it hurts me to being have my life over there, and am here disabled dont cant change things there, so i involve as much as i can, i know my woman good, and i know every little detail, from her life, till i study the house and roads to drive kids school and to the nearst store, i feel am already there with her, with every detail

so its really all about waiting, that is badd, am not rushing, but the problem there is nothing not to be rushed for!

Liz, this is some of the best advice I've ever seen given for the K-1 visa stage. I can't say that my husband and I haven't had any fights (I'm a b*tchy person, I'll admit and I'm hard to live with), but the 4 years we spent talking to one another online definately prepared us for spending the rest of our lives together

Might I also add some advice -

*Learn to cook a few egyptian dishes. Even from recipes, I can never cook egyptian food like my mother in law cooks. So, my husband learned a few things from her, and now he will occasionally whip up some chicken and rice or bashamel.

*Discuss now about household chores. Who will do the laundry, the dishes, the dusting, the vaccuming? Who will clean the toilet and take out the garbage? Come to a mutual understanding and don't be afraid to share responsibilities.

*Make sure you discuss what her goals and your goals are for the future. It's fun to imagine together where you'll be in 5, 10, 20, 40 years.

I am also in the K-1 stage, but to be quite honest, I would not be in this stage if I didnt know every detail about my hunny. We spend less time talking now than we did before. Before we got engaged, we would talk online 4+hours a day. There days now when we dont talk online at all and a 15 min phone will do.

No matter what visa you file for, its a tough place to be. Its hard to be away from the ones you love. Micheal you remind me of my fiance. He calls me and says i saw your office building on Google maps, or do you take this freeway or this freeway. I just laugh because its so cute, he knows all the roads already.
