That's all Americans are good for, suiing.

I don't see other countries suiing.

It's enough to make ya wanna vormit.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

House Approves Suing OPEC Over Sky-High Gas Prices

It is just positive proof that we really do have idiots running our country. How absurd. These impotent feel good resolutions for the masses are about as constructive and futile as trying to piss up a 50 foot rope. We wouldn't want our elected morons to strain themselves putting this much thought into a real solution...would we?

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

Too far to walk, too far and dangerous to bike, can't afford a hybrid, no bus or rail... Can't afford to move, I'm screwed :(

No need to ration if you make gas expensive enough.

very true. however, if you run from the cops, they might bill you for their gas used

I love it when people think it's easy to just "adjust" to these kinds of things.

I live in rural Indiana, in a house that has been in my family for 3 generations. It's paid for, but would bring me next to nothing if I sold it (which I wouldn't - and probably couldn't, in the current market - do anyway).

There's no public transportation of any sort here.

My job is 60 miles away. It is just now getting to the point where I would be better off working locally at a low-paying job. $ would be the same (after gas costs), and I wouldn't have the commute.

There are NO technology jobs where I live. DePauw hires from the "inside", and factories tend to bring in people from Japan (since that's where they are based). There are also no bike shops. I refuse to work on cars again, and couldn't physically handle it now anyway.

Buying a hybrid is stupid. My cars are paid off. The savings in gas wouldn't pay for the car. I'd be even more f##ked. And then...what happens when those massive batteries die?

So what are my "Easy" options again?

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

You could move to where the tech jobs are and there's public transportation.

And what about the house that I wouldn't be able to (either way) sell?

Besides, I'd rather castrate myself with a rusty spoon than live in a city. No f##king way. Living in a city is no way for a human to live.

It's paid off. You don't need to sell right now. Hold it.

As for the city thing, well, what can I tell ya - then you'll have to be ok with high energy prices I suppose. Which I see was your point to begin with.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.
