Respond with exactly what is requested, as soon as possible after you receive the RFE. But, you know that already.

does anyone know what they usually ask for when they ask for more evidence? Im just hoping its something easy.

We got an rfe because they wanted a certified copy of our marriage certificate instead of the photocopy of the original. It only took 8 days from getting the rfe email to turning it all around and resuming processing. Still bloody waiting though after 8 and a half months for this approval. So depressing.

Anyway - dont worry about the rfe, you should be fine.

Compare what you sent to what you should have sent and figure out what's missing.

I recieved an rfe this week,it is requesting for my divorce certificate,the divorce certificate i originally mailed did not have the government seal(stamp) on it....so,something pretty simple to correct,it just pisses me off,waiting 9 months,a dozen touches since feb. and months later...by the way,we need some more evidence.......couldn't tell me this sooner.well,what are you gonna do,....endure the torture the best you can !!!!!

Ok I got the RFE in the mail today and they need a copy of my marriage license in arabic,( duh) I just sent the one in english So that was easy enough. I scanned every piece of what they sent (even the envelopes) and what I sent them and I will over night it on Tuesday! Now hopefully they will finish my case fast.

Im sending a copy of the arabic. I left the original arabic version in Morocco with Said, I didnt think I would need it in arabic, cuz they say they need everything in english.

Be careful how you read. What the said was to include a certified English translation of any document not in English. It means in addition to, not instead of.

Well I finally got an email, stating that they recieved my information from the RFE and they are proceding with my case . I called yesterday and asked for a service request, stating I was worried because I got the reciept that they recieved my information, but I hadnt heard anything more about it and wanted to know what was going on with my case. The lady I spoke to was very nice and said that they had until july 3rd to respond to the request and apologized for me having to wait so long, I asked her to make sure that she put thank you for your time on my request and she said she did. I never expected something the next day. Now Ill keep my fingers crossed and hope for an approval soon.

As to what pushbrk said, make sure it's translated. Luckily I was able to circumvent all of that and obtain an international marriage certificate at the time of the marriage. Much easier and a recomendation for those who know in advanced that they want to immigrate to the United States.

I had to send the arabic version, I sent the english translation.
