Hi everybody,

I was just wondering if you ever get a RFE, does it delay the processing of your case?

For an example, if you first applied in february, and got the RFE in mid march, and then they received the evidence back in march as well. Will your case be considered as applied in march or still in april? Or it is just random that they don't touch your case because they are other ones as well?

Thank you

Jessica

I have seen cases that after rfe is recieved back to uscis that approval is shortly after, but its hard to know as each case is different.

I believe they just stop working on your case until they get the paperwork from the RFE back and then they resume normal processing so it slows it up in the sense that if the person doesn't return it for a few weeks nothing is being done on their case. But as was stated some send back and they get approval soon after, so I guess it just depends on what the RFE is for and how far along in the process you are at the time.

It didn't delay mine

Cases are delayed by RFE at least as long as it takes from issuing the RFE to receiving the information back. Usually that's a matter of weeks.

And remember an RFE is a good thing - it shows that someone went through your file and determined everything is fine except for a, b and c - once you send them a, b and c- you are basically ready to be approved. Good Luck

Thank you everybody for answering :)....we appreciate it...

But for our case: we sent the RFE immediately the day after ...it was about the sponsor form....

And based on what they said by email, they received it in april 2nd, and touched it in april 10th, the day after biometrics. And now, they haven't touched it since then...

Although we cannot really compare our case to others, some of them also got an RFE after us, but applied 2 days before us, and got an interview date a couple of weeks ago

But overall, we are just waiting for their answer

Thank you again

Jessica

Jessica your right on not comparing to others solely. Some people just get mail notification and nothing via email so hang in there I am sure it will all be fine.

hI!

It sure does, but usually the petition is approved real quickly after you send them the missing information!

The AOS process works quite a bit differently than the visa process in that the interview times are dependant on the workload at local offices and other factors not pertinent to visas.
